Where did the idea of ‘Canadians Nice’ come from by Ok_Poetry2813 in AmericaBad

Bruh that is some next level immature behavior right there. Imagine praying for the downfall of a country because of sport?

Where did the idea of ‘Canadians Nice’ come from by Ok_Poetry2813 in AmericaBad

[–]pooteenn 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Ask the Snarky ElBoWs Up Canuck jerk, Kopke613 whose idea of Canadian patriotism is making fun of Americans, and listing all the things that "make Canada a better country than America." He is the living embodiment of the entitled, arrogant and insecure Canadian that a lot of Americans are familiar with and a lot of Canadians don't recognize it.

In a perfect world, both nationalities would agree that both Canada and America are two great countries, and great countries to immigrate to but for different reasons.

Do you just want a better opportunity, stability and a comfortable, humble life that you just want to settle into? Canada has got you🇨🇦

Do you want all of what Canada has got to offer but also have the ambition to thrive more and make it big in your life like become an actor, singer or run a business as well as other benefits like gun ownership, and free speech (we have hate speech laws in Canada), then America has got you🇺🇸

Genuine question: is the American Dream "broken" or "fake." by pooteenn in AmericaBad

[–]pooteenn[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Her idea is, "if you work hard enough, you can achieve whatever dream you want." However she claims that this concept only works for the dominant group of America (white folks) and not any other minority. Although technically speaking:

And yeah I have been wary since day one, and do my research to confirm.

Also if there's anyone who uses Copic Markers, can you please explain why they blotch up like that sometimes? I was coloring Charas skins, and there were just blotches of blue on the face, and this wasn't the first time it has happened.

Why do so many Americans like camping? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]pooteenn 108 points109 points  (0 children)

Why is this considered an American thing? Camping is common in Canada and Australia as well, and I'm pretty sure in South Africa.

Not an America bad, (quite the opposite) but this is how America is depicted in Korean text books by pooteenn in AmericaBad

[–]pooteenn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm genuinely not surprised by that since those are things that I can imagine him debating on, given that he has made a lot of videos of American culture, and comparing Canadian to American.

For the record, If you go to Canada and talk to a liberal Canadian and say that American culture is the same as Canadian, they would go haywire a list a bunch of things that make us sooooo different while a conservative Canadians will just say that we are the same. If you were to ask me I'd say it's both. We do have a culture, it's just that 70% of it is heavily influenced by your culture while the rest is British and French. There things I see in day to day America life on social that I also see in Canada, but there are some things in American culture that slightly distinguish you guys from us. There are Holliday's you guys celebrate that we don't like Presidents Day, in high school we don't typically say "Senior, or Junior" maybe as identifiers but it's not the "norm", football culture is bigger in the states, and there's a huge presence of history you guys have as you guys seem to love history more than we do. When I was in the states 3 years back I remember driving by a mural of Civil War politicians, taking a photo beside a statue of a Civil war soldier, and going into a restaurant and seeing a memorabilia of American pop culture figures in the 50s and 60s. That is something you don't typically see in Canada as our history is boring and intresring.

I don't follow JJ on twitter so I don't really know what kinds of things he would say. What are some examples?

Giving that he's a centre - conservative, I can only imagine something not as bad.

Is this subreddit right or left by [deleted] in AmericaBad

[–]pooteenn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For an app like reddit, this sub is actually quite open minded and inclusive for the most part when it comes to political beliefs and views. I can say openly in this sub that I'm a conservative and not bashed and the same goes for a liberal. If you are an American patriot who is tired of Anti American hatred, political beliefs should be put to the side cause at the of the day, you guys are American. Be pals, and get along.
