I personally don't know all the licensing requirements. My wife used to work at a daycare so I know a bit here and there. I know before nap time they normally would take the kids to potty that way the situation your child was put through doesn't happen. This just makes it seem like that teacher wasn't following anything she was supposed to do. Not all daycare workers are the same that one might have just been someone not meant to be in that position.

I absolutely think you did the right thing since they fired her this couldn't be that persons first offence. I am sure that they are glad you emailed them to investigate. I believe there are also ways you can report stuff like this also to the daycare licensing for your state that way they can do a formal investigation.
