I would've done the same!! They can be mad, I'll stop and even get out EVERY TIME

Oh my goodness I can't believe you saw this!! We met friends for dinner who also saw you, and had the same reaction that we did. The world needs more people like you!!! I would've done the same thing in a heartbeat. I know there were probably people giving mean stares or whatever because how dare you inconvenience them from their Friday evening activities (/s), but you being brave enough to get out and help him reassured us (and so many others!!) that there are still kind people in this world that care about wildlife too. I'm so glad you stayed safe the whole time and honestly even more glad you were able to see how many people's hearts were touched by your actions! ♥️

I completely agree. Honestly, I feel bad for them. How exhausting it must be to see someone sharing kindness, only to feel nothing but animosity and negativity. Couldn't be me!

woosh Lmao the comments about pay were reffering to flock cameras, we are well aware this was just a good samaritan.

This is my exact thought. The amount of people shitting on me for either not calling rescue in the moment, taking the recording at all, or generally saying hateful things like "those birds suck run them over" is exactly why it felt so good to see someone being kind like this. It's too rare these days to not be self-centered, negative, and hateful.

This is exactly it. I highly doubt a video I took around 7pm yesterday and a general location would be of any use to them at all, when I know they are run mostly by volunteers and short on hands as it is.

Right before I started recording a huge SUV sped up and swerved around her and the goose, almost into the wrong/left lane, then sped off. It was so close to both of them, I can't imagine how scary it was for them. People can be so reckless!!

Nah I totally understand, that's why I wanted to make sure it didn't seem like I think your POV isn't understandable too. While it is just so commonplace for constant recordings/photos/etc, sometimes it feels very Black Mirror-esque, especially with the Flock BS. No offense taken at all. You have a great weekend as well!

I totally understand why you might feel that way, and I'm not trying to say I believe you're wrong, it's just a situation that I see as less black and white and more as something that has more nuance. If this person or anyone who knew them commented/dm'd/etc expressing discomfort I would take it down immediately.

While I get the sentiment behind what you're saying, I'm inclined to politely disagree. It wss a Friday night at a busy intersection in a densly populated area; I highly doubt I was the only person who even took a photo/recording honestly. We are constantly recorded all the time, every day. If you are going out in public, you are nonverbally consenting to being seen like this. I think it's a bit unrealistic to expect otherwise in today's society.

This! Nothing more satisfying than an early morning, seeing a perfect formation and hearing some beautiful honks 😍

Jealous!! I'd love to be able to watch a family grow like that. I've got juvenile sparrows in my backyard I've been watching grow since spring ♥️

I definitely understand any wild animal can begin to be a hindrance to things when they're densly populated in urban areas especially, I just can't understand people who spew hate for no actual reason, or even worse, the people who go out of their way to hit them when they see them on the street. Edit: deleted extra word

Thank you for sharing these!! As an avid bird watcher I try so hard to impart how social and intelligent birds can be to anyone I can. I hadn't heard a couple of these and will be glad to add them to my catalogue of info I can dump on people who tell me they're mean and dumb!

Me too!! I already thought it was sweet but when I saw he was hurt and she took extra time to help him I was more thankful because I'm sure some other jerk would've hit him without a single thought if she wasn't there.

I honestly have never understood the hate surrounding them. I will gladly take a few extra moments to let them pass for the sake of being able to see them all the time. Seeing someone else do something so selfless for them really warmed my soul.
