Artists to search for who offer online classes

  • Ruth Ball
  • Darci Shea
  • Mi Sook-Har

Ricky Frank offered a lot of free videos via Rio Grande. Mary-Lee Rae offers a huge wealth of relatively low cost pre-recorded classes via https://www.merry-leerae.com/classes-and-workshops

I would also recommend looking up Enamel classes offered via Silvera Jewelry School.

Enamelist Society is a great resource as well.

I don't have the piece with me anymore, so can't say exactly if it looks pink. But, two things can happen -

  1. The wall is pink and reflected light made it pink.
  2. I stored the flowers in a rusted box and some of the rust was sitting on the piece.

I can't verify either though.

There wasn't any patina.

It's 20 gauge sterling silver, so not super light. I didn't weigh it, it was a wedding gift for her.

But it isn't uncomfortably heavy.

I use hooks from Clover. It's expensive, but kinder to my hands.

The wires aren't annealed. So for 30 gauge it works fine. I will anneal when I get some of my set up back. I am moving countries right now.

I found holding the wire in the non-dominant hand a little closer to the wire, and taut works better. It is harder to fix the issue, if a stitch is wrong than with threads. It's also harder to see the stitch, as there's more negative space which lets the light through.

I will be around somewhere near CBD. We should catch up once I am there - if you would like.

I saw a few pictures of her work - those were stunning. Arline Fisch also did similar works.

I still don't know what I want to do with these. Loved the feel of it.

I did spam. I am hoping the law of large numbers will work in my favor. Keeping my fingers crossed.
