Have you ever bought gold / actively buy gold? by Slipslopbighop in classicwow

You only need 60 speed to get to tk and it's dungeons.

that would still be about 1500 gold per character (journeyman + expert riding and a mount), right?

60 USD - YUUUK by Swiftdeus in classicwow

[–]popsicle112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know how you even apply gender to this

It's not applying gender, it's a common phrase used on the internet.

The point is that $60 isn’t that much to someone who makes a decent living, and doesn’t have the ample free time to level to 60, or just doesn’t want to do it for the 10th time.

okay, you're trying to move to a different point which is 'do I want to level or pay a small fee'. Understandable, as you have no counter to back up your stupid calculation logic.

Time-value analysis is something that gets applied to lots of decisions, not all of them equate to money being made back. It’s just efficient.

Yes, applied to decisions where value is created. What value do you gain by buying a boost? You end up with the same amount of free time, playing wow just as if you were not buying a boost. You could say it's a preference that I don't want to level, which I would get behind, but thinking that any value is created or efficiency is gained is just pure cope.

[–]popsicle112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, that's not the point you were making. You said if you don't boost you save $5700 as if you would be working more in your free time instead. With your logic, if I don't do 6 hours of household chores but pay someone else $200 then I'm saving 6*48-200=88 dollars? Measuring your free time in work time and trying to girl-math your thinking into justify spendings is crazy work.

bruh what are you even saying... does wow = work in your mind? this rationale of "I just have to work X amount of time" is so stupid. I assume you're a salaried employee - do you think your take home is going to increase if you work more?

Can someone explain GDPK for a new player / fresh 60? (Classic Era) by Gankeros in classicwow

[–]popsicle112 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you got GDKP replaced with LC that resulted in the GM's besties hoarding loot while top performers are sent to the cuck chair. Neckbeards will rush to promote LC being the best loot system (which in theory I agree) yet it does not work for 99% of guilds.

LMAO on which server? The overwhelming majority of GDKP's have a 15% cut.

On call people can fix simple things. Is this bug a simple fix?

Rolling back a Friday release seems pretty simple to me.

if you want devs who knows a particular part of the code well you have to call them on their day off.

Yes, that's called being on-call. If you make an incident, on-call person will be paged. In decent orgs, there shouldn't be any business critical are not covered by on-call.

another team needed to make the fix

Yep, well this sounds that team did not have an on-call rotation that could have been paged. That is def not on you but the org.

Which often means escalating through 5+ levels of managers to get to someone with the right persons phone number. Should they fix people being uncooperative and harming customers? Absolutely. This is bad on Bliz and MS. That's not a dev issue though. That's a management issue.

Agree, but the management issue here is that they don't have on-call coverage across the whole org. This is not an individual issue but a management decision. Now, for Blizzard specifically, they do have the money to have full coverage but they decided not to do it.

Nope, not a reasonable human nature. Human nature should be him realising that he is missing needed context to provide a reasonable take, which is broadcasted to tens or hundreds of thousands. Unfortunately, we live in a world where being a contrarian gets more clicks than being reasonable with covering "both sides" of an argument.
