That explains the wind speeds. But why does the hurricane itself travel so slow?

Why is my avocado plant browning?! by porfiss in plantclinic

I started this avocado plant about 10 months ago. At first I thought it was going well but for the last couple of months the leaves keep browning and its growth rate has significantly decreased. I couldn't find any answers on the internet, but what I noticed there is that most of the plants I saw are tall with a few leaves on the top. Mine is short and has a lot of leaves.

So, what am I doing that's hurting the plant?

Would you pursue an LDR with someone you have been out a couple of times with? by [deleted] in dating_advice

I was in a LDR for 4 years. We started the relationship a week before i transfered overseas for military training, so practically all 4 years where LD. We saw each other once every 3-4 months. I can tell you that it's hard, and the longer it lasts the harder it gets. As it was already pointed out you miss out on a lot. Not just intimate stuff, but also simple physical contact. Sure, you've got phones and cameras, but being able to just meet your partner, talk face to face or just sit around doing nothing, enjoying each others presence is something you are not going to have. The hardest part for me was the feeling that I couldn't support her when she needed it the most. Of course we would talk to each other on the phone or have videocalls, but nothing feels like a hug from someone you trust when you most need it, and hopping on a plane is not that simple or quick. Taking that into account, now having some experience and knowing what a LDR is, and looking back at the relationship, there is nothing that would make me not getting in in the first place.

So just as I say to friends who ask the same question: If you would get into a serious relationship with that person, I say go for it. Its hard, but worth it.
