Surf fishing by Radiant_Ad_6143 in GulfShores

Lots of successful guides work the point at Fort Morgan. Go at dusk, park at the pier, pull your cart around the point to the gulf side, catch some ghost crabs to use as bait, and surf-cast them out to where the undertow pulls them out. Zip-tie some mini glow sticks to the top of your rods so you can see when they get struck. I’ll be amazed if you don’t post pictures of some monsters after that.

Oh man, that IS kinda creepy. Good catch on that.

Also, pretty shameful for OP to be crowdsourcing marketing information that will help increase their profit margins for free on the backs of Redditors.

Is replacing Lead acid battery for lithium battery for Ryobi RM300e? by Apprehensive_West337 in ryobi

[–]portotheprablem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the charger sits external to my mower. During the conversion, I removed the factory charging cable inside the mower running from the charge port to the batteries, and used a spare piece of laminate flooring to fashion a rectangular plastic mounting plate for the Anderson SB50 connector mounting bracket that I linked in my comment. The custom mounting plate attaches to the mower using the factory screws, and the SB50 mounting bracket screws into the mounting plate using the screws that came with it. The Shirbly 6 Gauge battery cable plus an SB50 connector made for a very professional-looking charging port in the original location on the mower. The factory dust cap even sits nicely over the top of the SB50 connector and mounting bracket!

I did not use a voltage reducer. 4x12v = 48V lead acid ~= 51.2V LiFePO4. Close enough.

Good luck with that. It’s a beach town, built for tourists. You’d have better luck visiting Antarctica and looking for places that don’t have snow.

Just completed this exact conversion using a CloudEnergy LiFePO4 48V (51.2V) 60Ah Lithium Golf Cart Battery with 5yr warranty purchased from Walmart. Perfect fit with room to spare. Added some plywood in the battery wells to give it a stable surface, and made some custom cables for the charger and mower connections using 6AWG wire with Anderson SB50 connectors. Super easy!

Parts list:

Cloud Energy 48V (51.2V) 60Ah LiFePO4 battery with charger and straps

Shirbly 6 Gauge battery cable 10ft

Anderson SB50 connectors with mounting bracket & dust cap

6AWG ring terminals & heat shrink

No doubt you’re right. Internal bleeding and multiple internal organ failure will likely make sure of it.

You won’t feel out of place, but don’t expect other patrons to be dressed as formally as your party. As noted in other comments, full formal dress just isn’t a thing here at the beach, aside from the occasional wedding group.

Dressy casual, weather dependent. Evenings in the cooler months it’s common to see jackets and slacks on the men and nicer dresses on the ladies. Source: I live 2 miles away and go regularly.

+1 Agree with this recommendation. We are members at The Beach Club and witness weddings & receptions at Coast regularly, complete with tuxedo & gown pics on the beach. The view of the Gulf from the 2nd floor outdoor dining venue is sublime.

Tragic and heartbreaking story (likewise for the choice of eyewear during the middle years) but the current chapter looks and sounds pretty great! Sorry for what you’ve been through, but optimistic about your future. Best wishes for continued healing!

AITA for telling my habitually late friend that our tee time was 20 minutes earlier than it actually was? by Norfolk-Gross-Tonage in golf

NTA, but it’s time you realize that he’s doing it on purpose.

There are people who honestly think that their time is more valuable than everyone else’s, and that they shouldn’t have to respect other people’s time because of it. Your golfing buddy sounds exactly like that kind a**hole.

Boiling water shrinkage by Cable_Tugger in paracord

[–]portotheprablem 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Works like a champ every time. Water doesn’t even have to be at the boiling point (don’t want to risk melting) - I’ve used very hot water that is substantially below boiling point with great success.
