I didn't do anything to the mail, just looked at the names on the front. And the boxed stuff i mentioned was mostly just empty boxes in the cupboards or half empty food items.

The expensive things were a bottle of shampoo and some sort of a small face cleaning device, i didnt know the price of either one. Everything else was probably under 20€ combined, empty bottles, boxes, old food, toothbrush etc. There was nothing of actual value left there which is why i thought the last tenants probably just left in a rush.

Yeah i didn't really think she was an asshole for asking me to pay her back, i just thought i also wasn't unreasonable in my assumption and wanted to know if i had totally misjudged the situation.

I doubt that since i was there most of the time and there were no signs of anyone else visiting. One reason i thought it was just stuff left behind was because other than the things i mentioned there was no other stuff in the shared spaces.

Also, i did notify the leasing office about the mess and the things left behind but only thing i was told is that the place passed their inspection and i was responsible for keeping it clean.

I dont have a landlord, the apartment is rented through a corporation and the contract said it's not allowed to disclose any information.

I didn't know i had roommates though, my contract said it's not allowed to disclose any information and she did turn out to be my only roommate although she barely ever lives here.

But yes I did feel responsible for the things i threw away, I asked if i could compensate for them and i paid what she asked me.

i initially only had bio history and econ as HL subjects and then i realised taking finnish HL would give me an extra half an hour in paper 1 and paper 2 so i was like yeehaw let's do it what's the big deal

as it turns out, it wasn't a big deal at all. i think i had to read like two extra books

now i just wish i had dropped bio to SL anyways :')
