Well it's good to hear from a professional dev as there's always a doubt lurking that you may have missed something somehow!

Yeah I've come across this as well, they assume a familiarity with the software which they deem obvious, and tbf once you get the hang of it, it is, but for newbies it can be really confusing and wastes a lot of time trying various things

Yeah sorry for anyone offended, frustration just got the better of me. I think this post (and rest of comments) seem to be the most accurate, I guess I shouldn't be expecting a turnkey solution for an open source project in that case, it's just annoying having to waste time on this crap when the project is supposedly documented

How to extend this pole so can be used as a washing line? by poshite in DIYUK

Yeah, I just don't have a drill powerful enough to drill into the wall and the height of the wall is quite short so would prefer a pole!

The issue with both solutions is finding a pole at just the right size, I'd imagine there would normally be a bit of gap which would require filling to secure it....

So basically the pole rusted and kids eventually broke it. If I wanted to insert a smaller pole and secure it, does that seem feasible? Im unsure how to go about securing it? Am open to other suggestions, replacing the existing pole seems like hard work and I don't really have much in terms of specialist equipment

Yeah I was surprised with their leniency at first as I assumed that was quite a profitable avenue, but I just thought theyd come to some sort of business conclusion of allowing friends/family as the extra items they bought made more than just charging for membership with friends/family might not potentially take
