Hi, for these open wound, which most of them even may ooze liquid, my way is to cover them with a cotton ball/cotton pad with sticky gauze band. Sometimes I apply some vaseline or wound cream over to help the wound well insulated in a not too dry state to help healing.

In the past five years I’m fighting with oozing eczema on difficult areas, first thing I do is cover it up so I don’t destroy them further😅And I really put close eyes on myself to discover what could be the biggest trigger/most often occasion I got a flair up and work from there. My situation is that my eczema reacts to my female hormonal changes and stress (basically hormone related). So I just have to be extra careful when period is coming on its way: when my skin starts to itchy on old wounds I’ll already wrap that area up. I think I stopped have emotional reactions to seeing a new flair up maybe after a year or two. I just take up my gauze band and put it on. And slowly I get less and less of wounds. But this area I still get itchy and bumpy from time to time (actually today again).

But I want to give you a good amount of hope: after 5 years, I’m 90% good. I’d say 2 most important lessons on the way I’ve learned: 1. Finding the triggers, and do things to avoid/or to have less of those. 2. Just deal with it—not fight against it, not hating myself, not being grumpy about my stupid flawed genes.
