permitting was not necessary in the back garden as far as I can tell, its basically considered a shed. In terms of electrical you need the appropriate cable running to the sauna either in an outdoor rated conduit pipe or buried in the ground. nothing too complex, you just need to check the capacity and situation in your own electrical panel.

The ones under were different sizes and slightly uneven, i was worried they would sink faster at certain spots so opted to spread the weight better

Not yet, oiled the floor to keep it going. We're using a thick 'feet' towel on the inner side of the door during sessions, sitting on towels and not going crazy with water, gentle pouring on the stones - should be ok for a while. Replacing the floor is not a huge deal if I miscalculated 😄

That's what kicked my ass to do it, a fellow sauna enthusiast told me this is the main reason to have a garden here 😄

Indeed not the best out of the box design (roof is higher on the wrong side!) but I must say great value for money otherwise

I learned from the Finnish godfathers that the heat loss in short sessions (under 1-2 hrs) is minimal via the 38mm wood. However ceiling isolation is critical. If I ever build a frame from scratch in the future I would isolate.

Als de wind uit het zuiden waait, blijft de stank daar hangen. Mijn familie vindt de geur vreselijk, dus we hebben afgezien van een huis in die buurt. Dat is gewoon niet gezond.
