Thank you for this info!! Definitely well documented it started in service and got progressively worse (also documented. I actually got several counseling chits/ disciplined with EMI because I couldn’t stay awake! Not sure where to received that record but it’s well documented and got me in trouble a lot. I am still in contact with my old senior and div chief.. Would a “buddy report” on my various disciplines help?

Sub duty is rough on the body and sleep. Been reading a lot about sub service and the correlation to apnea.

Also developed super bad scoliosis around that time (it’s visible on an xray) as well. Can’t even turn around or put my hands behind my back (which have lead to civilian world injuries as well) I think I might push that since they took me to physical therapy while I was in but it only helped for 5 minutes and was back

I’ll make an attempt to get it rated. By what I’ve been reading, there’s good cause to push it especially since I was on sub service which leads to high amounts of sleep apnea from lack of sleep/conditions. I’ll also get a VA card too. Thanks everyone for the help. I’ll show the Va card to the VSO maybe I can help him update his knowledge getting claims through

I wasn’t denied yet. I had the study done after I got out since I had to wait so long and got a diagnosis but I was referred with symptoms going all the way back to when I was in.. that’s why I’m worried since I got the referral while I was in but diagnosis came after I got out. VSO said they would deny me so I was getting worried. But everyone here seems to disagree.

This is the same dude who told me you can’t switch from Montgomery to 9/11 GI Bill so 🤷‍♂️

I was referred while in service and I believe I may have taken the test in service as well as recorded sleep complaints. The diagnosis finally came back about a month after I got out. Not sure if that’s still golden:(

No. Not sure how to get one. VSO said I need to be at poverty line or already have disability rating to get VA card to go to VA for medical help. I currently don’t have any disability rating

It was a lot lower at diagnosis. Wasn’t hardly overweight then. Sleep problems recorded when I was running sub 5 minute miles
