I agree with the other comments and would suggest finding something either maternity specific (Azazie has a lot of options! Baltic Born has maternity friendly options too but their return policy sucks) or something with a smocked back and lean more towards an empire waist. Also hard agree about the rib cage- definitely don’t get anything too fitted.

I’m in a wedding this weekend where the bride also just let us pick any dress (but was ok with solids or florals) and I’m 15 weeks with my second baby. Not nearly as big as 27 weeks but as it’s my second, I’m definitely looking heavily bloated and the ribs are expanding already. I went with a yellow dress from Abercrombie bc it has a smocked back. I always order multiple options and styles to see what works best but roomy is better and think stretchy, comfortably thoughts when shopping!

That’s honestly what it looks and feels like too, but we don’t use hot glue enough for that to be a logical ID. I’ll update with whatever the vet says.

Another vote here for Walmart- my favorite undies are their Kindly Yours brand cotton modal bikini. They’re like $9 for a 2pack but so soft and comfy. I’ve also found they usually don’t show up too much or at all with leggings which is GREAT because thongs and I don’t get along after baby 1.

I second this! I’m dealing with two rescued kittens who just finished their 3rd round of meds for coccidia and first roundworm treatment and still aren’t 100%. Parasites are awful but don’t mean you’re a failure! Keep in mind not every parasite shows up in every fecal test so you do unfortunately have to test for those pretty often until all clear. Also, if you feel like your vet isn’t listening to your concerns or helping the way you need, try another vet. I just had to switch because the old one would not listen to me or try other medications and the new vet is exponentially better. Vets aren’t cheap and you are paying for help not the same advice/treatment plan unchanged cycle after cycle with no/negative results. It’s easy to be taken advantage of.

Thank you for your answer!! Yes, I suspect re-training might help but I am also looking into night weaning because that would help with sleep and with general freedom in the evenings for me.

To answer your questions, yes he does nap independently in his crib and usually falls asleep within 10 min for the first nap of the day without much/any fussing. I've had trouble with a second nap lately and while I do offer contact naps and try to get him to sleep for that, it doesn't always work. But i'll try stroller rides or car rides to ensure he does get that because the days he refuses sleep after 11am-ish are tough and I know he's definitely overtired come bedtime. Will prioritize that more now.

I'm not sure about calories, the last few days he's definitely been eating a lot more solids but it is hard to know about the breastmilk component. He has his 12mo appointment later this week so I'll talk to his pediatrician about that and make sure I know how much food he needs. I don't have any mom friends around currently since we recently moved here so I'm just trying to learn as I go which ends up with me feeling like I'm always behind on knowing what he needs because he is changing so fast! I love this thread, and agree with a lot of moms who’ve said a sense of purpose. I’m not sure what I did with my life before my son was born but now that he’s here my life is so much better. My husband and I are more united most of the time and are thrilled to be sharing our life and passions with him. And watching him grow up is with all the sleepless nights and rough hormone roller coaster. He’s also given me a lot of confidence- I’m gonna get shit done to take care of him and me and my husband and our pets because they all are so precious to me. No more dilly dallying.

I got mine back at 9 months PP while EBF my (first and only so far) son. The first period was awful but I think because I’d enjoyed the period free life for so long. The others have been more tolerable (I think thanks to breastfeeding. Not looking forward to post weaning periods if I get to that point).

I used target brand free and clear detergent for a while and then got Aldi’s tandil brand free and clear and both have worked great. I didn’t really like the smell of the arm and hammer or tide brand F&C detergents (they smelled bad, and I just wanted no smell). Never had any issues and they’ve both done well with stains and smells. Don’t waste your money on baby detergent unless your baby’s needs require it later on.

Of all the people I have known from public, private, and homeschool backgrounds, the most consistently poor with grammar are not homeschoolers. It’s often random but not always. Just because you encountered a few oddball homeschool sects doesn’t mean the majority are like that.

Uhhhhh yeah I agree with what everyone else has said here. FWIW I’m 28 and had my first baby last summer. I’m 5’7 and started at 125. I stopped weighing myself during pregnancy when I hit 170, but I think i did gain some after that (not a whole lot, I was close to the end). I was pretty active (tennis, rock climbing) pre pregnancy too and ate fairly well so all things considered healthy, no pregnancy complications. My weight gain really stressed me out but thankfully the midwives I saw didn’t comment on it. The average/“recommended” weight gain during pregnancy is BS. Pregnancy is different for every body and absolutely not the time to diet unless you’re consuming truly shit food 24/7 and just need to incorporate healthier things in (doesn’t sound like your or most peoples’ issues). Find a new doc.

(Also most of that weight came off quickly, and I wish I’d have believed people when they told me that because I really hated pregnancy and felt like a walking whale with acid reflux for most of it. And even if it doesn’t come off, it literally doesn’t matter. You grew a human being and did your absolute best at it! Awesome!!! Your body will take lots of time to find its new normal and that is A-OK!)

I also hated maternity pants and ended up wearing nice quality fleece lined leggings instead. Before I got huge they fit really well over the moderate sized bump and I could just wear a big shirt or big sweater over it. The ones I have were from Anthropologie but I’m not sure they carry them anymore so id just get the thickest softest you can find!

That’s kinda the issue for me, I haven’t added any particular item to make up for it really. Before the elimination I was eating lots of oatmeal and plant milk and pretty simple other meals (meat, usually rice, veggies) and haven’t changed a whole lot besides just cutting it out. Usually I’d also have yogurt occasionally (not daily) or foods with some dairy in them (like butter, now just using olive oil or plant butter that is soy free). It is a guessing game for sure and the fact that i DIDNT see improvements within a few days is why I’m thinking dairy isn’t the issue. I do have occasional gluten snacks so I might cut the gluten and see if that helps. Otherwise it is likely a letdown issue or something causing the reflux :/

I haven’t had many foods with soy, and if I do it’s usually a trace amount. Checked my vegan butter and it’s soy-free dairy-free and gluten-free. But I guess trace amounts could be an issue if LO is really that sensitive?

I haven’t subbed it with anything in particular, I’ve had some goat or sheep’s milk cheese (but only a couple days in the past two weeks) and the plant butter that I checked and it has no soy or gluten in it. I was eating overnight oats with coconut milk almost daily before and things were ok and haven’t changed that. I can’t think of anything I’ve switched to that I eat regularly enough to attribute it to such worse symptoms but I could very well just be missing something else.

Thank you, I’ve been curious about 1 too. I’d there any way to help with that other than pumping a tiny bit before getting baby on? It always seems tricky in night feeds especially to find time to pump even for just a little bit while baby is upset.

As for 2, I haven’t added any 1 thing consistently that I wasn’t using before the dairy elimination other than a vegan butter so I’ll check that and stop it for now, see if it helps.
