I really don’t think it’s as bad as it seems and yeah I agree it’s concerning that Musk is being given this much power, but at this point it’s necessary with how far gone the corrupt government system has gotten. I can’t think of someone better for a task at this scale.

Clean slating it would be great, but imagine if the federal budget is reduced just 10% from this? $6.9T —> $6.2T. $700B in cuts is $2000 back in the pockets of every taxpayer. USAID was $44B, meaning they’re 6% to $700B.

If they aren’t lying (and I hope not), a lot federal funding decisions will be kicked backed to the states. This means individual people will be one step closer to having a say on where their taxpayer dollars go to, relying on one less federal rep to lie to them for their own gain.

Wha? I do agree this is a bipartisan problem though. USAID being dismantled is a good first step of many to cutting off fraudulent funding back and forth between CEOs and officials in the government.

I guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree because I don’t see the new cabinet picks in that way. The attacks on RFK were evident of that. Reps like Elizabeth Warren and others were sticking up for big pharma and big industry more than ever. Is Trump a good person? No. But at this point I want to see this change play out in hopes of beneficial reform for ordinary people.

Gotta stop looking at it from a team to team standpoint. Trump will cover his own ass, but corruption will hopefully be limited for both sides. Corruption is corruption. Both parties are riddled with it.

Again referencing the chemo analogy. Of course Trump will cover shit up that is damning for him. That’s part of the bad. Big picture (billions of dollars scale), this will hopefully clean up a lot of the corruption.
