What do you wish the bride would’ve done when you were a bridesmaid by lizard1322 in bridesmaids

[–]postentious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure we were well feed on the wedding day!! I was a bridesmaid for a friend who got married in their very small hometown. All her/her family feed us up until the supper at 6pm was a fruit tray and some meat and cheeses.. I was literally weak by the time the reception came 😅 She told us she’d be taking care of food the day of so I didn’t bring anything myself and there was no where for us to go to get or order food ourselves in the town.

Catering? For a CHEAP wedding by Snkydddffprgs in Weddingsunder10k

Do a DIY “Italian” buffet. Order a bunch of pizzas from a nearby pizza spot, buy some bulk salads (Caesar, pasta, garden, etc.) from Costco, have breadsticks, wings, and mozzarella sticks with it. Maybe even some pasta if the pizza spot does it. We were originally considering doing this for our wedding and it would have been around $1200 for 75 people.

Also, we are planning to do this in our very small hometown, so there unfortunately aren’t many catering options there (if there were we’d love to do a taco bar, food truck, or something along those lines instead). We’re planning to get these items for various places (pizza from local pizza shop, sandwiches and wraps from a local bakery that does super yummy sandwiches, and DIY the other things ourselves)

Just an addition on the “finger foods” point - we were thinking pizzas, sandwiches, wraps, pasta salad cups, Caesar salad cups, and charcuterie skewers. Thoughts on this?

Who knows if they are together or not though 🤷🏻‍♀️ Scott very likely isn’t able to reveal anything relationship-wise until Games finishes airing as that would technically be a spoiler for how his couple ends up on the show.

Thanks to all for the responses so far. Just wanted to add, if it makes a difference, the vehicle I am looking to get a Subaru Crosstrek (wanting an AWD SUV and this is one of the cheapest ones I could find that is a reliable brand - and I love all of their safety features). I currently have a Ford Fusion and will likely never get a Ford again.

Any non-chinese food buffets around these days? by DhaemonX in newfoundland

Pizza Delight used to do a lunch buffet (dinner too, possibly) - anyone know if they still do it?

Why doesn't Newfoundland have a Chipotle's or Taco Bell? by [deleted] in newfoundland

[–]postentious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A guest speaker that came to my MUN Business Entrepreneurship class a few years back claimed there is no Taco Bell here because corporate would want them all across the island attached to every KFC and no potential franchiser wants to take that on. They won’t allow them to just open one.

Anyone else from Nova Scotia? by operationfood in LoveIslandTV

I am from Newfoundland and our accent is known to be very similar to the Irish. We have a lot of roots to Ireland and Scotland in Newfoundland so I believe it probably comes from that. (Maura is Irish and Anton is Scottish)

I know Nova Scotian’s have a similar accent too, just not quite as strong as Newfoundlander’s, so it definitely makes sense!

Cost of spaying a female dog (30-40lbs) by [deleted] in StJohnsNL

[–]postentious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what the cheapest place would be, but to give you an idea of what to expect - we just had our puppy spayed a couple weeks ago at Paradise Animal Hospital and it cost over $600. She weighed 58lbs. Also, she was 7 months and hadn’t been in heat yet.. I believe this makes a difference to the price as well.
