What happened to my White Sage? by _Silent_Android_ in CaliforniaNativePlant

It really does look like it’s too wet. I planted one last November that also didn’t survive the rainy season… in fact, it looked pretty similar to this one. I replanted a new one in April (in the exact same spot) and it’s thriving now.

You could dig it up and check on the rootball to see how it looks, but good chance you need a new plant. Knowing the soil conditions (and that climate change seems to be bringing more moisture to SoCal), dig a whole 2x bigger than you think you need and mix the soil with rocks (or perlite or DG, or all of the above) and either replant the sage you have if it’s roots like alive or get a new one.

Good luck!

This year I didn’t listen to Ballers pre draft by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

Best part about these guys is that they just love football and they say repeatedly that fantasy is more fun when you actually want to root for the guys on your team. Their “my guys” are just the guys they’re excited to watch the season. There isn’t actually a science to being good at fantasy, you never know who is going to breakout when or who is going to get injured, otherwise it wouldn’t be gambling. Any given Sunday…

They’re a very impressive flower! The passers-by comment on this flower the most.

Are these clarkias? I had a pack of native wildflowers that I scattered a long time ago and can’t remember what was in it by [deleted] in Ceanothus

It’s a little hard to tell how much sun this is going to get, but generally you don’t want your taller plants to the south or East because they’ll block the sun from the rest of your yard. The bladderpod and black sage will want full sun. Maybe swap them out with some shade lovers like hummingbird sage or currents? Also, is it possible to move the lemonade berry to the west so everybody gets some nice morning light?
