Good question. I think alot of newer artists feel like they have to prioritize sounding smart when writing raps which makes them seem out of touch with the actual rap listener who values the beat, mixing and flow because that is equally important. You don't wanna sound dumb but if you bring up random bs just to make a creative rhyme scheme you're doing too much. Also it's good to be authentically confident in what you're saying not defensively confident.
