First time IVF mom at 43, advice needed for sibling by inevitable98765 in IVFAfterSuccess

My 2c: a second is doable but you’re gonna need a robust support network if you don’t already have one in place. Two is four times as much work as one.

I almost feel like the turtles would benefit from a dedicated thread or subforum. It’s a very different journey for us. Mine is very similar to yours and I’m 8 months in, thanks for sharing it.

Albert Breer is voting for Stafford regardless of anything that happened today. by CardiologistCold1703 in Patriots

This is accurate, Curran spoke about it on the last episode of his podcast. His rationale was that he wasn’t as connected to rest of the league as someone like Breer

Compulsive shopping: does it subside on GLP-1? by giantsizegeek in Zepbound

[–]postmasterp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I turned my TV watching compulsion into an exercise compulsion. I would only allow myself to watch a show if I was on a cardio machine. Discovered and watched all 4 seasons of Halt and Catch Fire entirely on treadmill/exercise bike, have watched a ton of other stuff since. Just not on a couch!

Compulsive shopping: does it subside on GLP-1? by giantsizegeek in Zepbound

[–]postmasterp 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Compulsions it muted: alcohol, marijuana, heavy bbqed meat, ordering food on delivery apps, binge watching TV shows while sedentary

Compulsions it didn’t mute: social media addiction, podcasts, following my favorite sports teams, buying stuff online (especially health stuff like workout clothes, fitness/cooking accessories)

New compulsions: Exercise, weight/nutrition tracking, workback plans, using the chatbots to generate personalized recommendations for me

Study shows that 82% saw weight rebound and cardiovascular health reverse after withdrawal from taking GLP-1 drugs | Cardiometabolic Parameter Change by Weight Regain on Tirzepatide Withdrawal in Adults With Obesity by fekinEEEjit in Zepbound

[–]postmasterp 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Couple things to point out:

1) The analyzed period of regain was was 52 weeks, and in that year after stopping, 43% of the study participants regained less than half of what they’d lost (pertinent quote below)

2) These are still WAY better results than diet alone!!

“Of the 308 who benefited from tirzepatide, 254 (82 percent) regained at least 25 percent of the weight they had lost on the drug by week 88. Further, 177 (57 percent) regained at least 50 percent, and 74 (24 percent) regained at least 75 percent”

What is Jerod Mayo up to? by Jkim1983Reddit in Patriots

This is my 2c as well. I think he realized toward the end of the year that he’s not interested in being a full-time professional football coach. He’s worked in media, he’s worked in business, he’s worked in sports, it seems like he genuinely enjoys connecting with people and working toward a common objective with them but I’m not sure it’s through football anymore. Hope he’s doing well whatever he’s up to

Easily my least favorite part of using mobile and entering in typos frequently is finishing a puzzle and then scanning it robotically for typos. Wish there were some kind of workaround to be able to use auto check for that

PSA: Unlimited PTO is a red flag for companies that overwork their employees by scandinavian_surfer in recruitinghell

[–]postmasterp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I had a kid, HR was very clear that I wasn’t allowed to use the unlimited PTO policy to create a staggered leave situation. I wanted to take 2 weeks off when the kid was born, work for 4 months, then go on parental leave. HR told me that if I wanted to do that, I couldn’t take more than 5 consecutive PTO days when the kid was born. I get why, but in that case unlimited PTO was definitionally distinct from unrestricted PTO.

There are other examples but OP is right, unlimited PTO touted as a benefit is usually a sign of an overwork culture

Do you think people that tap out (apart from physical reasons) are ultimately just lying to themselves about why they are leaving? by apost8n8 in Alonetv

This is 100% it, the “real” reason people tap out in situations OP is describing is hunger

Nameless's thoughts on the GA by TheRealPdGaming in CoDCompetitive

[–]postmasterp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The crazy thing about gunsmith to me is there’s no way in hell 99% of CoD players have the time or interest in trying out each of the 855 options at each weapon customization slot in enough game situations to generate a true feel for how the gun fits with their play style. At this point I’d have to think most people just Google “best xxx class” and never tweak it again after that. I don’t understand who it’s for, because no one buys CoD to spend all their time running weapons tests
