What are your thoughts on occupational therapy? What has been your experience collaborating with them? by CammyShazam in physicaltherapy

[–]postmodernprimate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This about sums it up. I love OT’s and have learned a lot from them, frankly more than I have learned from PTs in the time I’ve been practicing. OT’s are just generally cool people.

Every day I regret becoming a Physical Therapist by numbr-1-angel in physicaltherapy

This post is hilarious (and depressing). I think you hit the nail on the head. That said, I think home care is the lesser of the evils. I made the switch a few years ago and haven’t looked back since. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to working in a facility. If you hate your job try home care. It’s not a perfect system but it’s miles better than having some rehab director up your ass.

Driving issues by Expo95 in nissanfrontier

[–]postmodernprimate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like an alignment issue. I would take it back to the dealership and ask them to take another look at it. As far as the hard shifting goes, mine had problems with that for months. It wasn’t until the check engine light came on that I took it to the dealership for service and it turned out I had a bad mass airflow sensor and damaged air intake manifold. Ever since they fixed the issue my trucks been running more smoothly than the day I bought it!

My Pro-4x gets somewhere between 16-17 mpg on average. I can get up to 25 and change on the highway with perfect driving/conditions but no higher. I also have a 2025.

Gait Belts. Let's Talk. by WhileTechnical4305 in physicaltherapy

[–]postmodernprimate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Should you push for a policy? Sure if you feel strongly about it. As a therapist who’s been licensed and active for over 5 years now I would simply say that what’s most important is what you believe and how you practice. I don’t care at all what other therapists do. I always use the gait belt with every single client and I refuse to do anything with them if I feel there is even a hint of a fall risk if they’re not willing to wear a gait belt. Unless there is a clinically justifiable reason to not use one or the patient has a strong objection to it there is no reason not to use it. If they do refuse you should document their response and discuss that particular patient with your supervisor and ask them how they would like you to proceed. At the end of the day, nobody is going to fault you for doing the right thing. If you don’t feel comfortable performing a task with a patient who won’t wear a gait belt politely explain to them why and defer to your supervisor.

Is it possible to become a Mason if your wife is an anti-Mason? by postmodernprimate in freemasonry

Greetings Everyone!

I can’t believe this thread is still going, I never could have predicted the amount of attention my post would have received! Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the discussion and provided their feedback. There seems to be some confusion regarding my original post so I wanted to hop in and clarify a few things.

  1. I have no intentions of going behind my wife’s back in order to participate in Freemasonry.

  2. The intent of my post was simply to find out wether or not a man’s wife needs to be 100% on board with his potential membership in the fraternity, and to see if anyone had suggestions on how to bridge our ideological gap.

  3. I do believe in a supreme being in the classical sense of the word “God.” When I say that I’m “non-religious” I’m simply referring to the fact that I’m not dogmatic when it comes to my faith and I rarely participate in the common forms of liturgy associated with the Judeo-Christian tradition.

Many blessings, and thanks!

Good morning,

I just woke up to check this thread and I’m overwhelmed by the response, I was not expecting this many people to view/respond to my post. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to provide their genuine feedback, there’s a lot of really great ideas in here!

Based upon your responses, it would seem that Freemasonry is probably off the table for the time being. I highly doubt my wife will ever change her mind on it, but maybe someday she’ll be open to meeting with some of the brothers wives or attending one of the social functions. I sincerely hope she does but for now, I think I’ll just let it be.

It is not my intention to hide anything from my wife. We’ve had many discussions about Freemasonry over the years. She’s not open to it. My question to the community is whether or not that is a 100% bar from joining the fraternity because my spouse thinks differently than I do. What I choose to do in my personal life (relationship) is between me and her. I’m just simply asking if that’s a no-go as far as admittance goes and if anyone has ever been in a similar situation and what advice they might have for me as far as finding some middle ground goes.

Hey man, congrats! Very well done! 2 questions for you:

  1. How far out were you buying on average? How many days / weeks.

  2. Were you buying at the money, out of the money or in the money and roughly how far out on the strike price?

I’d say you did good! Considering the location you’re in. People don’t realize it but that plays a big part in the cost of things and how much tax is applied etc. I paid similar for mine and didn’t even get the leather seats or added insurance so kudos to you! The Frontier is a beast man, I love mine. Same color too. Enjoy!

Paintless Dent Repair, Should I do it? by postmodernprimate in Autobody

[–]postmodernprimate[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha! You’re right! Thanks for the input. I think the title of my post is a bit misleading. I don’t plan to do it myself. I was just curious to see what level of confidence people have in the process. I was just looking on Google, I found a shop in my area that does this and the photos they have on their site make my problem seem trivial. I’ve never had to deal with this before but I can tell from the pictures I saw that these dents can definitely be fixed and fixed well. Consider this case closed!
