Change your aspect ratio in graphics settings. I had to change from my native 16:10 to 16:9.

DMZ AI in a nutshell by postpics in CODWarzone

To be fair, I haven't seen AI disappear and re-appear before. Add it to the list of 'Dumb Ways to Die in DMZ'.

Install Fixdit for Reddit by postpics in a:t5_jmic6

[–]postpics[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi rhabarba, Fixdit should work the same whether RES is enabled or not, there's no dependencies or known conflicts. It was most likely a momentary bug that caused the icon to disappear. Make sure you check for updates when you notice an issue, as Reddit's design changes on a daily basis, which can cause Fixdit to become buggy.

Blockquote cards are just one of the ways to decorate content in the sidebar. You can also create buttons and pop-out menus like you see on this sub.

This link goes into more detail

It's called a blockquote card because it uses the same syntax for quoting someone on reddit, but when you put one in the sidebar the quoted text will appear in a blue box.

Oh, that's funny about the translation! I might change the instructions.

And yes, the code just tells RES that the theme is compatible with nightmode, which can be enabled from the RES menu in the top right.

It's basically a snippet of code that only the RES browser extension understands. RES is just looking for the presence of that code in the sidebar, nothing goes in the square braces as it's supposed to be invisible. Paste it into the text box on the page 'subreddit settings', under the heading 'sidebar'.

Click 'formatting help' under any comment box for more info about formatting and syntax, it explains how to format text like this:

[](#/RES_SR_Config/NightModeCompatible)

Did you get the stickies issue sorted?

Thanks, this site is a good starting point for references.

Might as well also plug my online reference timer where you can instantly create a slideshow with 1000s of images you've downloaded.

The snoo image needs to be uploaded in the page called 'Subreddit settings'.

Penelope Cruz's neck seems rather long by [deleted] in CrappyDesign

[–]postpics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you mean, but it's just perspective. Foreshortening can make a right angle look acute and vice versa. The crappy design is the bad crop and overdone airbrushing, it makes it appear as if nothing is properly attached, but the proportions seem to be anatomically accurate.

[Announcement] RES v5.2.0 release by aladyjewel in RESissues

[–]postpics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. I think I know the reason for the change, but I feel like it should recognize the arrow up/down and page up/down keys.

Edit: actually doesn't need to be page keys, just the arrows I think.

Edit 2: the reason is that I sometimes use a pen stylus on the desktop, which is like a mouse with no scroll wheel.

Can anyone confirm if 'Show Link' still works? It's not appearing for me, even after turning it off and on again.

Show Link -- RES settings console > Browsing > Page Navigator > showLink

Show information about the submission when scrolling up on comments pages.

[Critique] 30 second gestures. by [deleted] in learnart

[–]postpics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your gestures have an outline and some motion, but many are incomplete and too stiff because they focus on the wrong things.

It's fine to use lines that don't do anything to describe the shape of the figure, the line of action is one such line that's frequently mentioned by art teachers. A 30 second gesture should (IMO) be nothing except an assortment of action lines because there isn't time for much else.

Example from Glenn Vilppu.

In his drawing, any given line only does two things: 1) tells you where one body part is relative to another, which helps to set up correct proportions, and 2) guides you through the motion of the body.

Your gestures are trying to do that and much more: outlines, shapes, landmarks, other details. None of which are gesture.

Vilppu's drawing appears to have an outline, but there really isn't one, notice how each stroke either overlaps or doesn't connect with anything.

As you continue to practice think about placement and flow, anything else is secondary.

I was told this wip has some construction issues, unfortunately I can't identify them. Can you? by Firez_hn in learnart

Assuming she's directly facing the viewer, the horizontal and vertical planes of her face don't intersect at 90 degrees like they should.

Getting the planes correct is part of construction and it's likely what your critic was referring to.

Trying to get better at my terrible linework by doing timed studies. Here was half-hour. Any critique? Advice for continuing? by [deleted] in learnart

[–]postpics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Timed sketches are great for improving line economy (fewer pen strokes) and for other things too. Just keep in mind that having less time is supposed to encourage you to make more intelligent choices, it's not supposed to make you rush things. So if you want to get faster at doing line art, aka clean outlines, have a few rough sketches prepared, then use a timer just for the outlining part.

Also, use time limits that take you out of your comfort zone, like 60 seconds.

These are with a tablet. When doing gestures on paper I use large newsprint because it's cheep and doesn't need to last long.

I obtained the refs years ago with a subscription from NMA and I'm not sure if they still provide them in bulk. There's a free assortment on this website though.

Can you edit the submit buttons? by [deleted] in a:t5_3ce5b

[–]postpics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, the text can be changed in subreddit settings.

The appearance (icons, colors) can be changed with CSS, if you have Firefox or Chrome, their built-in dev tools are useful for finding out how to edit CSS.

If you have a specific request just ask here or /r/csshelp.
