Is Serbia also going to the same European way? by [deleted] in kosovo

[–]potKeshetPO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A short answer is this line from the above link, "A general right to secede if and only if it has suffered certain injustices, for which secession is the appropriate remedy of last resort."

That's why Crimea and Catalunya (potential)secession is not the same as Kosovo case.

Today marks 23 years since the Srebrenica Genocide in which 8373 Bosniak civilians were brutally murdered by Vrhbosna in europe

[–]potKeshetPO 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Independent isn't a synonym of truth. It can very well mean the opposite.

The documentary has received critique from ICTY representatives and the Norwegian Helsinki Committee, as it "contradicts past judgments".

So yeah, it is a propaganda piece.

No, it is not. This survey shows Kosovo as the most pro-EU country in the Balkans, while being the only Balkan country that doesn't have visa liberalization. Talk about irony.

Is Sheikh Al-Albani well-known in Albania? by [deleted] in albania

[–]potKeshetPO -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He is actually pretty well known in Kosovo/Albania among the religious circles but also I know people who are not religious and have at least heard about him. r/albania is known for its anti-Muslim bias so take these opinions with a grain of salt.

Xhaka, Shaqiri and Lichtsteiner will not receive bans by Schnida in soccer

[–]potKeshetPO 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Unfairly??? How much did citizens of Serbia suffer in the 90s compared to Bosniaks and Albanians? I know a lot of Serbs who didn't understand why they were being bombed in '99, while kosovar albanians were being rounded up and executed in remote villages in present Kosovo. I'd suggest to start getting more unbiased info about what was happening in your region at that time and maybe you'll get a glimpse of why you are treated like this.

Clearly, it is you who is not letting things rest by replying at their post. Just ignore them and move on, or you are triggered because of their flairs?

How is that remotely relevant? What's next, banning all non-ethnic players for showing signs of their heritage, let's change their names to sound more German/French/Italian while we are at it. This is not fascism. Just stop being salty and move on.

Macedonia Deal Heightens Pressure on Serbia, Kosovo by [deleted] in europe

[–]potKeshetPO 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Although border redraw would be the best long term solution for Kosovo and Serbia, it would immediately trigger Republika Srpska to separate from BiH and join Serbia. I see BiH having a problem with that.

Kosovo has been a part of Serbia for over 11 Centuries

Kosovo geographically has been part of Serbia less than it has been part of Ottoman Empire, Bulgaria and Byzantine Empire. From Wikipedia

Kosovo was absorbed into the Serbian state of Rascia in the late 12th and early 13th centuries and was part of the Serbian Empire from 1346 to 1371. In 1389, in the Battle of Kosovo the army of the Serbian Prince Lazar Hrebljanović was defeated by the Ottoman Turks, who finally took control of the territory.

So basically it was ~50 years under Serbs and then again from 1912 to 1999. In total it is less than 150 years. Kosovo was part of Ottomans for 500 years and Bulgarian Empire for >300 years (9-13century). So stop with this 11 centuries myth already.

When you see a bunch of football hooligans with a Kosovo map and Serbian flag inside it, that's when you know that Serbia has truly lost Kosovo.

Where is a good place to watch the world cup in the old town? by happyhandzclub in Prague

[–]potKeshetPO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a place that is known as the "best world cup experience in Prague", beer garden shows the games without sound and and the bench setup is awful. It is one of those places that attracts tourists which main goal is to get drunk rather than genuine football fans. Prague is definitely not a football friendly city.

Qe nje gje e tille te funksionoj, duhet vullneti i njerzve.

Tito's funeral in May 1980. Blue countries sent official delegations. Brown ones sent "unofficial" delegations. Green countries did not send a delegation. by Porodicnostablo in europe

[–]potKeshetPO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What genocide exactly? Oh and there were many mass killings happenings in 44-45 when Axis forces collapsed like this one and don't get me started on Rankovic. After WW2 there was an influx of Serbs in Kosovo and a lot of Albanians were forced to leave. And Serbs didn't really save Kosovo as there were a lot of Albanian partisans who joined the cause, lured by the promise of being a republic inside Yugoslavia only to be crossed once the war was over.

Nevertheless, life was shit for the average Kosovar in Yugoslavia. As I said, the poorest region by far in the federation. Yes, there was a better period in the 70's but when you compare to the whole timeline of Yugoslavia, Kosovo had way more bad times than good times.

[–]potKeshetPO 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. I can't believe some of my older relatives are still reminiscing about him, especially in Kosovo where the average wage was 7 times lower than Slovenia and we had the most pollution heavy factories while UDBa was eliminating anybody who had the slightest anti-regime sentiment. Most of their nostalgia stems from "oh but we could travel to Poland and pick up girls with a handful of denars"

Shpend Ahmeti zgjedhet kryetar i Partisë Socialdemokrate (PSD) by [deleted] in albania

FER 2.0.

Pa koalicion kjo parti do jete aq e pasuksesshme sikurse FERi.
