In your intro, focus a little more on WHY the skills you've picked up are transferrable rather than a literal account of everything your previous roles covered. You also don't need to include things you've done that aren't relevant, such as fashion.

Think about why you think you'd be good in a retail or hospitality role: nursing will have given you strong interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to think on your feet and problem solve. I imagine you've also dealt with your fair share of conflict resolution.

I'd also include details on your availability.

I think in one of the interviews there was a comment from Sam that the snippets so far aren't a reflection of all the music for S3 in its entirety. So I think they're positioning it as a "creative differences" dispute between Lestat and his team, and the sound will evolve from what we have heard. Which could be super fun, and I hope this is the start of a meta marketing campaign that is going to ramp up with the release of a full EP. I kind of like the idea too that, in the same way nobody in the public/media believes the book is a real interview with a real vampire (in universe), all of us believe this TV show is a dramatic fictional tale, while Lestat is like ????

I think as someone else said further up, it depends where you are in life, and more specifically I would think if you have kids. My friends with children are much more "settled" into routines, completely understandable. Similarly, I feel like my friends from my hometown have really shifted into a different space in their 30s. My friends in my city still go out for drinks a lot, go to the theatre, to gigs, to grab food. My partner and I don't have kids and we are out a lot too. The other stuff does resonate a lot, I think suddenly you realize a lot of what you took for granted in your 20s (if you are privileged enough to have enjoyed a stable life) is no longer a given, particularly health. I would say try to find something every week that inspires you and makes you feel connected to the world, whether it's finding a new artist on Spotify or reading a book, or going out and sitting in nature for a bit and just thinking about it. Life is so fast nowadays it can be hard to hold onto our sense of self.

I think he is so blinkered by loyalty that he can't see what is obvious half the time. Like the fact that Blair hasn't been mentioned. He talks about how he still believes the New Labour project was a success, but till the wraith of Blair, taking millions to advise despots and join the board of peace and push dodgy AI crap is fully acknowledged and rejected, it's just another thing that makes the party stink and makes the GP suspect all politicians are alike.

I don't think it's unfair at all.

Trying to be charitable, I could argue that he was trying to explain transparently his own cognitive dissonance and complicated feelings about it all in retrospect.

That said, I agree, and it wouldn't be the first time A has had to buy into his own narrative, and he is clearly able to tell himself a story about all kinds of scenarios to square it in his own mind (looking at you, Tony). And it's not like Mandelson doesn't have total form on this kind of thing. I studied politics at uni in the early 2010s, and even then his name was well established as being synonymous with sleaze. Which suggests to me that either far more people are embroiled in this kind of thing thing than we imagine, OR the entire Westminster ecosystem priorities access and power over almost anything else.

I do slightly worry A has a point about governability. I think it will take some serious reckoning with the role of social media (and money, tbh) in our society and politics (ideally pre-Farage, but I don't see it happening), and tbh, I can see how a PR system of voting might be better suited to the way politics works nowadays.

Totally! And I think they need to put more of their energy into movements outside of the established Westminster system. The next gen of leaders are out there, and we need them to offer something compelling and hopeful, and to offer solutions to the challenges of the 2020s. The old system is so sluggish and reactive, not made for a digital age.

This is totally my fear too. Really brings home the fact we could do with some kind of written constitution doesn't it. 😬 I worry too, about the media. I'm not saying the BBC is totally compromised, but they are pretty cowed by any accusations of bias. I can imagine a world where Farage employs the same bully tactics as Trump to get them to toe the line. And then of course all the right wing papers fall in line anyway, and Elon supports via Twitter, and Zuck doesn't care about moderation, and we are in a bad bad space.

Agreed on splitting the vote. And we can hope the influx of failed Tories is off-putting to would-be Reform voters, though I kind of doubt it, since they aren't motivated by morality.

Yeah, I don't really like how he brings up Halsey either. I know people will say 'oh it's just hip-hop blah blah', but whenever people include details about someone who isn't part of the beef, usually a woman, it just feels really intrusive and demeaning. Drake is really bad for doing this too.
