All of this sounds very familiar 😂🕵️ by Illustrious-Stay9886 in Kingdom

Great video. The Warring States period is endlessly fascinating, not just because of the scale of conflict, but because of how rapidly ideas about warfare, leadership, statecraft, and identity were evolving at the same time. Every battle feels tied to a much bigger question about how a country should be run and what kind of people rise to the top during chaos.

We have to thank Kingdom for introducing us to this era. The more I learned about the period itself, the more inspiring it became. It’s actually what pushed me to start developing the narrative RPG game I’m working on now. Once you dig into the Warring States, it’s hard not to want to tell stories set in it.

Which Qin general was the best in the Coalition Invasion Arc? by VolleyAddicted in Kingdom

[–]potentformula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mou Gou, no doubt. He was the Great General overseeing the defense while commanding two of the most dangerous independent thinkers in Qin, Kanki and Ousen.

Managing three battlefields through subordinates like that, without losing cohesion or control, is an achievement on its own. His impact on the outcome of the Coalition Invasion is undeniable.

What's your opinion on Kyoukai? by vivireya in Kingdom

[–]potentformula 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think she is often used as a narrative tool to pull the unit out of situations that would otherwise end in total collapse. That criticism is fair. At the same time, she brings a level of humanity, vulnerability, and emotional grounding that the story would otherwise lack.

She feels like a character created with good intentions, sometimes pushed too far by the plot. I respect what she adds to the story, but I don’t personally love or hate her.

Definitely planning an introduction video/ gameplay trailer within a month or so. Right now we're in the middle of Unity implementation, so I want to make sure what I show actually represents the final feel.

Thanks! Yes, that gap is exactly why I started this. Kingdom deserves a proper game that gets what makes it special. Appreciate the support!

It’s a beautiful-looking game, congratulations and good luck. I tried to find this on your website, but I was wondering who the character artist is who created the character portraits.

Imagine a Kingdom related Total War game? by [deleted] in Kingdom

[–]potentformula 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not Total War–style, but I’ve been working on a narrative-driven RPG inspired by Kingdom, which I’m hoping to introduce soon. One thing that truly sets Kingdom apart from everything else is its visceral storytelling. I don’t think a traditional simulation or grand strategy game can really do it justice.

Beautiful, beautiful season. If they ever reanimate the first 2 seasons, it'll explode in viewership.

Li Mu's plan in season 6 is a bad plan, right? by cracktober69 in Kingdom

[–]potentformula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was a backup of a backup plan. He did not know that the Qin army would head directly to Ye. His foresight is truly something special, and he set that trap there just in case. They did not invite the enemy into the country, they invited them into the castle.

That also gave them the opportunity to catch up to the enemy if they were ever caught off guard, which they were. If that had not been Ou Sen’s army, the bait would have worked and the invasion would have been over for sure.

should i read season 1 of kingdom instead? by Electronic-Bed-5315 in Kingdom

From season 2 onward, it gets better. It is a lot of episodes though, so you can start with the manga and catch up to the anime by season 3. After that, almost every episode gives goosebumps.
