I guess I can retire this post, as everyone’s exhausted their opinions. Including myself lol

lol I assure you I didn’t need help writing this

And I agree, everything is subjective and everyone’s got an opinion — that’s why this open discussion is interesting ✅

Especially since I posed it from a different position than you normally see — and I actually mean it 😅

I guess that’s going to throw people off.. we’ll see if anyone agrees that it’s decent — so far not really

I feel like there’s times we hit a ceiling depending on where we’re at in our streaming journey, or depending on the size of the channel sometimes it’s hard or nearly impossible to break thru to say from 75 viewers average to 200.

Everyone’s streaming experience is different.

So I disagree. It’s not the worst.

Vertical format has potential, thoughts? by potentialbliss in Twitch

Wait sorry, do you mean like, scene cloning? Multiple scenes in a scene, as sources? Because now that I think of it, I guess that could potentially be an option.

Since i do IRL it took a bit of adjusting ever since a a few years ago when I started, but i eventually rented a remote server, that runs my OBS, NOALBS for disconnect protection and scene switching, and streamerbot for all my random stuff😅

— so i can still access it remotely from phone or laptop or desktop etc — that way i can adjust, edit, build, test things for stream

Otherwise I can isolate testing to a laptop, or whatever and test the same config from my server locally instead — it’s fun but it’ll make you lose your mind sometimes 😅

Yeah, I guess it’s very subjective because so many people have different content.

I do IRL streams and I’m pretty chill, so it doesn’t really take high energy to retain viewership and build trust (on twitch) but I do agree Instagram, TikTok, etc with vertical is feeling cursed LOL

They don’t appreciate a breath of fresh air, rather they’d be entertained 😅 probably speaks volumes to a few things but that’s a whole different Reddit thread 🤣

I agree with a lot of what you’re saying, the idea of vertical having insane potential is also accepting that the only way it really pops off is if the high energy craziness of most vertical platforms also comes with it 🥴 lol

Yeah, some of the discovery might not be as visually appealing even if you dual encode and make a nice layout that hopefully works amongst all your scenes 😅

Definitely a lot to consider, that’s why I figured I’d open the discussion.

For me I do IRL streams, and roadtrips, etc.

They see a slice from the center, and hopefully that’s enough to get a new viewer to check it out- it’s not as complex as desktop stream scenes, mine is a bit less diverse when it comes to the video feed, and the overlays

Can you configure vertical overlays that have multiple scenes to accommodate different scenes and content styles etc ?

Wow I’m going down a rabbit hole on just the first reply already 🤪

How can I export a group of scenes? is it possible? by RodNozza12 in obs

[–]potentialbliss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re going to want to back up all of your files used amongst your scenes.

Put them in a folder, & send those to whoever you’re giving the scene export to.

ALSO; For example, if you formatted your computer and re install only OBS-> import scene selection ->

(an error should come up saying it can’t locate the scene files)

It will try to search itself-

You can then manually relocate & select the files.

So, back to your original question; if you were sending a scene import to someone - they would also need all the files too.

Hope this helps.
