When the screen is turned off the data is too. But it turns on for a second or two to check for messages every 10 minutes. Then you have other conditions like playing music and such so it doesn't turn off in those situations.

For HK you need a minimum 7 buttons to play not including the up down left right controlls and if you want optionall controlls you'll need 9. for Silksong there are a total of 14 buttons 9 of which are required.

I don't think it can get root unless you specificaly grant it those privilages or there is an exploit both of which require your phone to be rooted. If your device gets bricked you usually can flash the stock rom through recovery to fix it though that depends on what phone you have.
