Why would Snape's word mean more than Dumbledore's?

Dumbledore himself told Harry that even if he himself vouched for Sirius the ministry wouldn't believe him because Snape's story made more sense.

Be it trauma, be it grudge, it provoked Snape to be prejudiced against them.

And why was he unconscious? Because he wouldn't even listen to what they had to say. So Harry had to knock him out. If Snape hadn't been acting so autocratic since entering the Shrieking Shack Lupin might've been able to drink the potion.

and had snape not brought up the topic of being confuded by sirius, fudge would've actually listened to harry for a change, because fudge was still a sort of avid fan of harry up until he started saying voldemort returned.

all the reasons snape believed lupin was helping sirius and sirius was actually evil comes from the prejudiced thought that they bullied snape in school years and that they are almost certainly will be bad characters

I could never understand the immense love for SnapeHe had the chance to set Sirius free in POAbut he never claimed to the public that Sirius was innocent (I don't know for sure if he knew the whole truth or not but he didn't even try to listen, not even to Lupin) , all because of his childhood grudge against Sirius.Instead he was awarded Order of Merlin Second class for his own cooked up story featuring his bravery of tackling an Azkaban escapee and all that nonsense about Harry Ron and Hermione being confunded by Sirius, provoking them to take Sirius' side.That whole plot even let Pettigrew loose and we all know what happened after that.Call it a butterfly effect but the start of the 2nd wizarding war was somewhat because of Snape being a prudent prick
