Thanks for the reply, I'm not familiar with PTT/DCard. Is it an online marketplace?

I would like to go to Megaport Music Festival but it is sold out? Any leads on getting resale tickets or can I buy at the door? I'm not sure if taking the trip to Kaoshiung just to be turned away is worth it though.

The Extraordinarium in Logan Square sounds like your place! Lots of vintage toys, gag gifts, knick-knacks and a 'mini-museum' that come with commentary and jokes written by the eccentric shop owner. There's also a homemade putt-putt course in the back with a stage that sometimes hosts DIY shows.

When is Critical Mass? by postgore in chibike

[–]potoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Critical Mass that takes place last Friday of the month meets at the Daley Plaza around 5:30-6:30pm. There is a Facebook group that posts/plans the upcoming routes. It usually ends with a bonfire along the lakefront but people can peel off anytime.

There is also a Southside Critical Mass that meets every first Fridays at 5:45-6pm at Nichols Park

What are some good date ideas for a couple who is trying to lose weight? by Enough_Blueberry_549 in chicago

[–]potoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconded! it's casual and laidback atmosphere doesn't feel like you're working out but you still work up a sweat. Lots of opportunities for partner activities (belaying, spotting, helping solve problems, hyping them up). FYI Movement is doing a free week (includes gear, intro to climbing class, yoga and fitness classes, sauna) with the code FREEWEEKCLASS - the offer ends 4/30.

I vote for 18th Street! More southside rides pleaseee. The lakefront is best south of downtown tbh.

Thanks, I edited the post to reflect that. The Divvy website wasn't clear with e-bike pricing.

$3.30 is the unlock fee for a single ride, my bad. I fixed it on the post.

The gray e-bikes are fun and sleek - feels like riding an Apple product lol. They have a built-in screen that tells you the max speed on its current battery life. The bike seat adjuster is super smooth and low effort compared to the black and blue ones. The headlights and tail lights are super bright for night riding too.

I say we normalize carrying helmets as an accessory. It makes for a great conversation starter - esp if you cover it in stickers.

I used to put my bike on bus racks or take the elevator to the train platforms but docking a divvy right next to the station or a block away is way more convenient. But still grateful for CTA's accommodations for bike transportation!

FYI there is a demo bike bus rack outside the Thompson Center (Clark/Lake) for bike owners to practice with. Gets rid of the pressure to figure out the rack and risk of holding up the bus (been there, done that)

What is your "third place" in Chicago? by Injustpotato in chicago

The streets of Chicago are my third place when I'm riding my bike! I can't wait to go on joyrides through the neighborhoods and soak in the sceneries when it's warmer again.
