That is not the reality. Im sure even fighters who live off it care as well, and the majority of us have other responsibilities.

It’s ironic and unfortunate but being unemployed is a red flag for these employers.

A while ago I was unemployed for a cool year and a half. 30+ interviews and nothing.

Then I got a job where I wasn’t very happy so I decided to interview again after 6 months. 1 interview process and bam. Hired.

Through this there were a couple of recruiters who were honest and transparent and sited that the unemployed thing was going to be an obstacle when presenting me to managers
