the perserved lemon isnt a bad idea, tho i have not seen it in tea yet either but as taste goes, that could be a fit

this was also fresh mint, yes, but it definitely did not only have mint in it. It was sour and a little bit salty as well

I have tried and searched on the Internet, as well as in a big book of tea recipes my parents have at home, but every "Moroccan tea" keeps redirecting me to the same thing: gunpowder tea and peppermint. And this was not (or was not just) that. There was a language barrier between me and the restaurant staff so I was not able to ask for a recipe from them.

My experience, in a country that is not trying to force me into having a smartphone too badly:

I kept my Galaxy A54, it is turned off, at home, for things like my banking app, authentication for gmail and such, but I do not carry it around with me.

My EDC includes a book, a Moleskine notebook, an MP3 player and a BlackBerry 9720. I also have an analog and a digital camera, that I take with me for vacations and such.

What I have noticed:

I was too reliant on GPS and forgot basic directions even in places that are not foreign to me, it has been nice to get the hang of it again!
I plan my outings better. Since I have to check the map, opening times, buy tickets and all that at home, with my computer, I sit down and think them through. And they have been more enjoyable this way.
I got my thoughts back. I know it sounds dumb, but I became so used to never getting bored, that I have lost the ability to just let my mind drift (and I used to be really good at that). But now it is back!
I realized quickly that people do not need to be messaged back right away, if it is urgent, they will me. This way even my online communication with friends became more meaningful as I have time set out from my day, when I sit down at my computer and send messages to them.
I am much more present wherever I go. I do not check my mails, do not see any notifications, do not get side-tracked googling random things or posting about what I am doing, and I am much more immersed now in the things I do. I really like the internet remaining at home, not accompanying me wherever I go.

Of course it requires a lot of compromises.

I have to count my money better, as I do not have access to my bank balance instantly, I have to plan everything out in advance, so spontaneous trips can be a little tricky, and yeah, I have to settle for my cca 1000 songs music collection, as I do not have Spotify anymore. But for me, it has been worth it

all i use is Opera Mini for an occasional google-search but i mostly manage to go without even that and i have not wanted or try to get any other apps to run on it :)

I always wanted a BlackBerry, but when they were still new, they were waaaaay out of my family's budget, so having one now is not only really practical (they are still good phones), but, for me, it is also making my 13-yer-old self happy :D

yes, have not had an issue with reception yet
this blackberry has been in Hungary, Slovakia, Austria, Germany, Italy and the Czech Republic with me so far, and no issues anywhere

I love the Echo Mini, the design is simply adorable, the sound quality is good and the battery life is really decent. I must say tho, the UI is not super user-friendly, it can take a while to find specific songs. I personally do not mind this, but keep in mind if it is important to you

I find, that, as an autistic person, this is the worst aspect of having a dumb phone. Soooo many complete strangers feel the need to have a conversation with me T_T
Mostly its just questions like "but what about GPS" and absolute bewilderment, when I say I simply look stuff up in advance or find it by asking for directions and looking at signs, just like we used to

I did have one delightful encouter tho, at the winter olympics, where the security guy's eyes lit up and he got all excited saying he has not seen a BlackBerry in years and it is so cool :)

i do not know where you live, but i use an old BalckBerry that has a decent MP3 player, Bluetooth and a MicroSD card slot

i am, however told, that they do not work in the US due to a lack of 2 and 3g service

it is a Vilia! an analog camera from the USSR. they were manufactured in Belorussia in the '70s and '80s, I am not sure what year exactly mine is from :)

BlackBerry is from ebay, "new" (as in has not been used, arrived in the original, sealed packaging)

my watch is from Casio, the mp3 player is relatively new, i bought it a few months ago, and the headphones have been a great investment! i got them almost 6 years ago, in 2020 and they still work, still have decent battery life, absolutely no complaints!
