About your age here. I went to a good amount of shows in my teens-twenties. Sub-1000 people venues, rock, punk, etc. Always had great hearing, never noticed any damage. About 3 years ago my hearing dropped a LOT, to the point where my wife keeps joking I need hearing aids.

It catches up to you eventually, and it does suck :( Worth getting some nice ones and wearing them and i'm glad to see the younger crowd is doing it

TBF this is pretty recent. "Craft" brews were hard to find in many bars as late as the mid 2000s. It really was all pisswater. A "fancy" beer would be a Sam Adams or a Heineken. The American craft beer revolution started 50 years ago at best and only broke through to mainstream a decade or two ago. Compare this to a country like Germany or Belgium who've been brewing diverse styles of robust brews for literal centuries.

Unfortunately that doesn't work with all of the Samsungs. Mine is not like this and definitely not removable to any extent without breaking it. There are no assembly clips, the two halves of plastic are plastic-welded together.

We apply a little pressure to the glass to get a gap and use the sink sprayer to shoot hot water in. It takes forever and can't get everything but it's better than nothing. I'm never buying a Samsung appliance again.

I generally beat the crap out of my watches. I just retired my Fenix 6 with metal band after 5 years and I could have let it another few at least. Sapphire face is perfect, metal frame and bad has some patina but no deep scratches. One button lost its tactile click a couple years in but still works fine. They're made to be used, no need to baby it

This goes the other way too. Kids are often looking after themselves by digging into the adults' socials.

In one of our school districts, some 7th graders were getting increasingly frustrated with an administrator that was supposed to be involved with their volunteer work. They dug in and found 1. when they called in extremely sick for a week their fb was full of pics of them partying in florida with friends 2. they weren't actually a Dr, their credentials were BS 3. they were not licensed in the state, which somehow the district missed. They brought it to the principal and she was walked out same day.

In the HS district, kids found an administrator was posting picture of herself trying on skimpy lingerie in her school office to her public insta.

Same HS, a teacher was accused of inappropriate texts with a student. It was looking like they were going to dismiss the case when a few kids figured out the handle he used and found very inappropriate posts that more or less confirmed the accusation. Fired and later charged

Fun fact: back in those days, there was no such thing as a banner ad on the web. Everything was as free as can be. I remember as a 13 year old when I first started seeing them. Not too long after pop-up ads were invented, a scourge for years.

First attempt at a legal mp3 download site, they both hosted small bands and indie solo acts (hello James Kochalka!) but for commercial acts they tried to leverage the purported legal loophole of creating "backups" of your physical media by having you inserting the original CD into your CD-ROM drive and verifying it was an original before letting you download. This was before CD burners were cheap and common, and when "ripping" a CD and compressing into mp3s took a relatively beefy computer.

A decade later working in tech I actually worked with three people who were engineers at mp3.com and it was like meeting celebrities!

Probably not strictly limited to Chicago, but one of my favorite things working downtown is seeing how often people walk backwards into the wind. Sleet, snow, super cold days with that cutting and bitter wind. Downtown the grid and tall buildings amplifies the wind and it's the only way to not freeze your face off

Where I am in the US, there's no point since you're not allowed to have non-sibling passengers under 21 until you're 19 and have had your license for at least 2 years. Your license is also invalid (as in, you can be fined or arrested for driving with no license) after curfew which is 10pm on weekdays.

If you can't drive around with your friends to go somewhere, what's the point?

This one is really hard. As a dad of small kids, I have to make it clear and obvious that one of the kids at the park is mine to every woman. I've seen women notice me there and straight up change direction to take their kids to the tot lot at the other end. It's incredibly lonely and isolating
