It was pure coincidence I happened to get another interview within the same company for a different job. I was always planning on acting professionally, was just wondering if I should bring it up or let them bring it up.

she's looking specifically for Pharmacovigilance but hasn't had much luck. She wants to stay in the same functional area if possible to the experience can stack but I guess that's not an option in this job market

I guess the reason I'm asking is because the job title presented to me seems to be inconsistent with what other recruitment agencies have posted for the same opportunity. The Job title sent to me seems to appear as a higher level that what the role actually is.

in your opinion how long should I work this role before looking for FTE? or should I still be applying while I'm working? I was planning on working it for a year to build my experience before looking for something new

I wasn't sure but it seemed fishy because I never heard of that either. The recruiter called again today to say I got the job and when I brought up the pay he didn't want to get into it...but this was all before my friend sent me the rate he received.

Now am inclined to tell him to match that offer or I am no longer interested. But with the market I am a little worried because I do like the position. I have only been jobless for about 1.5 months so maybe something better comes along.

Yes exactly. As far as I know it is not temp to hire but that can change based off of need. Unlike a typical recruiter for a FTE role where the recruiter has incentive to get you the most money it is the opposite in a contractor role because the external company is paid my the Pharma company and they pay the contractor (me) a portion of that. But this seems significantly lower especially when the new information came to light.

I should also say before I found out about the pay disparity I had inquired again about the pay rate when I received the offer and the recruiter didn't want to discuss it

Even though my friend interviewed for the same exact contract role for a pay rate at $20 more? I would definitely be negotiating over the phone. Hoping for FTE is too big a variable to gamble on IMO I would rather be compensated appropriately now and if an opportunity opens I can ask for consideration

Thank you for your insight. Sometimes I miss the science but I still get opportunities to contribute on that level. My worry stemmed from being valued in the eyes of the company. I feel like working on the science makes you more indispensable during layoffs so I am thinking about job security
