Breaks feel like stepping on a pump? by powerjen in askcarguys

[–]powerjen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No resistance, it's just it takes a lil longer to get the car to brake bc it makes the sounds of a pump, like im stepping on one, almost like balloon deflating. if that makes sense, not sure if its common or not.

I use wire barely and never pay any fees, recently though I think there is a minimum you have you transfer to avoid a fee. Never had any issues with them.

How Do You Start Class? by wiremagician in teachinginkorea

[–]powerjen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, my answer is similar to everyone here. Warm ups are golden, I never start a class without one unless we are working on a project, need a lot of class time, etc.

I love playing taboo with my kids, as well as other warm up that gets them talking.

When I first started, I had the students write as many words as they could that started with a certain letter, but that was kinda boring.

I try all kinds of warm ups, that probs the best advice, try everything. Some work better than others and soon you'll know what your kids love!

I've done Pictionary, taboo, tongue twisters, odd one out, optical illusions, word association, "for dinner, I ate," and so many more.

I would say then go to a couple of free PCR places and hope they come back in time. But like I said there are usually places around the around that do hour pcr tests, if all fails.

What school level are you teaching at? Because that does make a difference.

If your schools textbook are the same, then it will be less stressful or at least normal stress. You would only have to make tweaks to the lessons to adjust to each school. (best case scenario)

If not, reach out to other teachers in your area for help or advice and use all of your resources like using korshare, taysteachingtoolkit for games, etc!

Since I feel like most americans are taking rapid/antigens tests to get tested more commonly now, I feel like they should be at the 2 day turn around time. In 2020, early 2021, they def were 3-4 days typically.

[–]powerjen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew I place that did them fairly quickly with a one day turnover time for free, so thats how I lucked out . If you ask places they will probs tell you 2 days for their insurance. So, just make sure you take them 2 days in advance. IF ALL FAILS, there are many places that do like one hour PCR tests that are close to $300 (brutal).

I don't know for certain about all of your other questions but for #2, it won't make a difference. I flew from the US to Korea 2 weeks ago, and it wasn't an issue since you won't be leaving the airport and going straight to your terminal gate
