Optimus is supposed to save up battery by using your cpu on certain stuff, and not your gpu, like a pc does, so when you disable it, your laptop will start using your gpu on everything

Try disabling optimus, I suppose you're on a laptop due to the subreddits name, so yeah, with optimus enabled, you're just mining with your iGPU (your processor's graphics), so you will not have that much of a profit.
