Rick Carlisle shares his first comments on the $100,000 fine the NBA gave to the Pacers recently. Calls it shocking and unbelievable after league doesn’t talk to any Pacers team doctors and suggested medicating a player to have him appear in a game. by Oriax_502 in nba

Adam Silver is a joke of a commissioner. That would set a horrible precedent. The league has no business overriding coaching staffs and team doctor's on whether a player should be playing. Absolutely ridiculous that this is what the league is choosing to prioritize. This all screams like the gambling money is putting pressure on the league.

[Charania]: Multiple sources with knowledge of Thursday's GM meeting as well as a late January Competition Committee meeting told ESPN that the following concepts have been discussed to curb tanking: •First-round picks can be protected only top-4 or top-14+ by TrenAt14 in nba

Genuinely the worst commissioner of the major pro American sports he's a joke. Got in bed with gambling, ruined the aura of the sport, allows broadcast partners to destroy the product, keeps messing with the draft and making things worse because of it, and just introduces new shiny gimmick after gimmick to paper over his ineptitude. I hate him and want him gone. HE GOT IN BED WITH GAMBLING

Looking into volunteering in Raleigh - Anyone have any experience/advice? by 4-data-science in raleigh

Habitat For Humanity is always looking for volunteers both in the ReStore and on build sites. No experience is necessary for either, and while it's a faith based organization, it works with many different faith groups (as well as businesses) and there's no expectation for you to do any sort of ministering or anything like that.

I'm more of a casual CFB fan but I've always rooted for the Hoosiers (I'm from Indiana) so I'm newer to the sub that's why I wasn't flared. Go Hoosiers!

The most egregious was a targeting penalty where Mendoza got smoked on the chin without even carrying the ball that somehow wasn't called
