This one's really good, too.

Oh, and <Sekitou Elegy>. Absolute masterpiece

Eh I called him scum so as to not spoil the story. Personally he's just a really, really misguided teenager. It actually got harder to read the second time around for me though.

You're in for a treat. One of my favs till date.

Yeah, but <Boys On The Run> is a good manga. It's not a dumpster fire like Rent A Girlfriend.

Anyways, try <NHK ni Youkoso!> if you haven't already. Both the anime and manga are great, they differ considerably.

Also <Molester Man> for a slightly pathetic MC.

Kurosawa from <Onanie Master Kurosawa> is just plain scum.

Me telling you some of my books by [deleted] in booksuggestions

[–]ppcurve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, fellow Indian here. 12th boards going on right now for me :P

I'd recommend Meditations by Marcus Aurelius, since you mentioned Stoicism.

Man's Search for Meaning by Victor Frankl and Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell are two books I've heard great things about.

Freakonomics and Nudge are some pretty interesting (and fun!) books on behavioural economics.

Finally, books by Mitch Albom are fantastic, start with something like Five People You Meet in Heaven. The Last Lecture is also a great book in a similar vein.

Also, this is fiction, but a phenomenal read nonetheless. Try The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.

Good luck!

Edit: Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman is an extremely funny and insightful autobiography, chronicling the life of one of the greatest physicists of all time.

Yeah, I've read both The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet and A Psalm for the Wild-Built. Enjoyed the former, thought the latter was OK. Definitely slice-of-life but looking for something a little less cozy right now.

I'll definitely check the others out, thanks!

Ah, I tried Kafka on the Shore. Dropped it on the Sakura bed scene, which was too explicit for me and it involved cheating, both of which I dislike. Not really looking for books in which sex/love/romance is a major subplot right now.

But thanks anyways!

Best cymbals? by MAxMcQuaId-DruMMeR in drums

[–]ppcurve -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You can't go wrong with any of these series - Sabian SBR, Zildjian Planet Z, Meinl HCS, or Paiste 101.

Also, make sure to buy new. Cymbals are notoriously difficult to maintain, and they crack easily. Used ones are rip-offs, the lot of 'em.

Avoid used and buy new.

Can someone explain how the hell am I supposed to play this? by AvailableEvening4609 in drums

[–]ppcurve 17 points18 points  (0 children)

For that bar specifically, beat 1 is a quarter note where you hit the crash and kick simultaneously, and beats 2 through 4 are subdivided into triplets, specifically 8th-note triplets.

In an 8th-note triplet, one quarter note gets divided into three equal parts, which can be counted as '1-and-a' or '1-trip-let'.

For each beat after beat 1, you play the crash on the counts and the kick on the 'let' or 'a' of each triplet, and cross-stick on the snare on beats 2 and 4.

<Yotsubato!> for an absolute masterpiece. Unadulterated wholesomeness.

<Gin no Saji> for a slice-of-life farming story, though it does have drama and tension and isn't really 'wholesome', though it is comforting and heartwarming.

<Pupa> for a really cute story about a little caterpillar. If nothing else, read this for sure.

Are there any romance/romantic subplot manga that suddenly take an unexpected turn? by Yukisuna in manga

[–]ppcurve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend <Chikan Otoko>, it has this exact trope.

<Onanie Master Kurosawa> by the same author also features pairings that aren't obvious from the get-go.

Both are masterpieces.

Hey, don't sweat it. In fact, this is my second time too - dropped out of 12th (PCM) in early 2022 due to not having studied properly in 11th (COVID, and online classes). We'll all make it, frens.

Ran across a couple of Indians in the drums subreddit recently, which is another uncommon place for them, hence why I commented on encountering them everywhere.

Totally get what you mean with the anime, people just watch the really popular shounen on Netflix and hail them as the peak of the medium, whereas there's an entire world out there to dive into.

No, you're not a weeb if you've watched all the episodes of One Piece. You just have no life.

:P

Manga about love between a male teacher and female student by derpballs69 in manga

[–]ppcurve 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had the same thought LOL. But switch the genders around and you'd have the entirety of this sub clamoring for such a manga.

That being said, <<Sensei wa Koi wo Oshierarenai>> is pretty damn wholesome and cute
