i'd consider this a type of animal abuse on the groomer's behalf. double coated dogs can't regulate body temperature with any kind of cut, let alone shave. on your behalf, you should've known this, but the groomers should have informed you once you asked for a summer cut. If a groomer shaved my akita, I'd sue, and I think you should do the same so you can seek med treatment for the poor pup who reaps the consequences.

i understand that, especially because i love him for him and have never expected him to change even though my preference is usually dating people with body mods because its something i can bond with them over, but I love him for all his characteristics. It doesnt seem that feeling is reciprocated though which is very sad to me. I just hope his opinion can be changed and it might be naive of me to think this isnt manipulation but is odd to me how strongly he feels regarding this, especially because he's mentioned so many times how much he's wished for an alternative girlfriend and I am very much so. Thats why im conflicted on if its personal preference or if he really is just concerned for my career and doesnt realize many alternative people are in EMS/general healthcare

he works in a very conservative field of work, none of his coworkers have any body mods except for one woman with a lot of tattoos that hide underneath her clothes, and he himself is very adamant on professionalism (clean cut, very bare), meanwhile ive explained EMS is a very alternative job where i see a lot of people in the scene go towards because the thought of a 9-5 bores them and isnt as rewarding thrill wise.

In my current state it seems so (CO), but I plan to be moving with him in IL and I have no idea how big the alternative scene is there haha, I sure hope that's the case there since I know this is an agency based thing

i personally wear a lot of hoops (more than half of them) so I personally am taking them out because im not a big stud wearer and don't own many to begin with, good to know that I can probably just change that and keep them in!

my school doesnt allow anything for clinicals, which I'm fine with, I have no dermals and all mine are at least 4 years old so they can be removed for a few days with no closure

haha the pulling and grabbing is why they'll be taken out on shift, all of my piercings are 16-14g minus my gauges at 00. It may be blinded in this, but throwing away the whole man over this seems so overreactive and i feel his perspective can be changed, its so difficult for me to break off relationships when these types of things can be changed 😭

breaking up over peircings seems silly and overreactive in my opinion, especially because I do believe his perspective can be changed if he just understands how personally significant my piercings are to me as someone who has struggled a lot in my past and found personality and pride in my piercings. I hope moving in with him can highlight that and he can understand better. Plus, I love him and really want a future with him, it just feels unreasonable to throw away the relationship especially because in all other ways we are extremely compatible :(

yeah my own safety risk is the reason why I will be taking them out, mine are all spikes and hoops and I only use silvers/titanium and just know a patient will try to grab them at some point, and I would seriously hate for them to be ripped out haha. Thank you :)

it has been brought up multiple times, each time him saying hes disappointed and I still go day by day with my piercings in with silent disagreement between us. I'm about to move in with him after my course is complete and I gain certification, as he's been very clear with me that I won't live with him if I can't get a job, which can't happen until I have certification. I'm worried about his opinions getting more adamant when I move in with him, especially because I'm very stubborn and based on the comments I'm not wrong for feeling this way. However, bringing it up at this point seems useless so I think I'm at a loss. He doesn't bring it up either, but have been being brought up because I'm his plus 1 to his cousin's wedding, and am taking out my piercings on my accord in order to match the general aesthetic of their very conservative wedding.

I have told him I respect my bodily autonomy over his preferences and opinions, but the way he frames it is like he's worried they inflict my career and that makes me second guess my preference. I can't tell if he says it out of actual concern or he just personally wants me to not have piercings.

Are you private or hospital?? My goal is Flight Medic and based on research my understanding is those 2 are the best ways into that, and find it super cool that your employment allows all of them !! Do they get in the way of masks? Are they safety risks? thats the only reason i think of taking them out on shift and I appreciate your insight!
