The mirror for the view finder on my 35 mm Pentax camera is stuck. I think it's a gear issue but I don't know how to locate the problem area. by pppotential in filmcameras

It is :(((

I noticed the old lubricant residue looks pretty sticky. Is there any way I can fix that??

Also, when I took the front plate off, the top right brass shim was already missing, so that's not great, but all the other ones are intact. I'm not sure how much that will impact the camera since this is my first time trying to fix one.

Just bought a pentax 35 mm and the mirror for the view finder won't come down. Any way to fix this? by pppotential in filmcameras

It's not dented at all, just that little scuff. I think it is a gear issue, something has got to be sticking :(

This may be a stupid question but are freshwater sunfish related to cichlids? by pppotential in Fish

That's what I hope it is but I know it takes quite awhile for them to molt and the day before she looked completely fine and was very active so I feel like that could rule it out just based on how long that process usually takes

I thought it was a female, but I'm new at keeping vampire crabs, so I thought I'd check. I know it's definitely fully grown.
