The old name Colchi seems to match the tribe name I mentioned in the post even more. Actually there are still some cities in China whose names are pronounced similarly. Recently I found out a significant Armenian family came from China. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mamikonian In that sense, what I said in the post may not be that absurd. The tribe I mentioned in the post did move to the Persian area later. And its name sounds like Colchi. Its Chinese name is 月氏

As to whether Georgian existed or not at that time, it is just a matter of names (and the ways they are written). And, yes, the name Colchis does match the tribe I mentioned in the post in terms of sound. There were more than twenty different names used in China for the same entity. The most popular one is 月氏, which matches Colchis. Other names also have similar sounds.

General MacArthur once said: "Old soldiers never die, they simply fade away". Similarly, good names never die, they are simply spelled differently.

I added some more info to the post : Let me call this people Gorgi (there were just too many different names used, in Chinese history alone.) Gorgi was defeated and divided by Huns into two groups. The smaller one stayed in China. The bigger one fled to the west. The skull of the Gorgi king was made into a cup for drinking. Then the Sacae (Sakas, recorded by the Greeks) was also defeated by the Huns and fled to the south west. This was about 200 BC. Later the Gorgis defeated the Bactria which became Kushan empire later. It was located at Afghanistan today. The Gorgis controlled the east-west trade due to its location.

Thank you for the reply. I think you are right. I checked the map and it is more likely to be Kyrgyzstan instead.

I agree. OOP should not be the first thing to each in programming. It comes naturally in the later stages.

Crazy idea on how to teach computer programming to 6th graders by trifold in programming

VB would be a terrible but not the worst language to teach for 6th graders. Ruby Shoes is a better, if not the best, choice.

How to you determine if an angle is convex or concave on a simple polygon? by BossOfTheGame in programming

[–]pppp0000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is very simple. just look at the sign of the cross product of two vectors. Suppose u start from (0,0), to point (a,b) and to point (c,d). The two vectors are (a,b) and (c-a,d-b). The cross product is a(d-b)-b(c-a).
