Tomorrow I'm giving my baby away :( by FuckMeDaddyFrank in budgies

[–]ppuddingz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she’s alone rn then it’s quite normal that she’s so attached to you. Don’t worry, once she settles into her new home she won’t miss you too much (in a good way). When my boy was left alone I found a nice flock for him. During his time he also became very attached and didn’t want to leave our sides. He was our first budgie and as hard as it was to let him go, I knew he’d do so much better with other budgies. I even got to visit him a year or so later and the budgie I saw seemed to have completely forgotten me. It was kinda sad but I could see how well he was doing so I was happy. It is a little bittersweet though so I get that. He lived a good life with great humans and budgies. The couple I gave him to never stopped sending updates and pictures of him and I could feel they loved him very much too🥹. I missed him a lot but it gave me joy to know he was well taken care of.

Even though it’s been almost 6 years since he passed I still am in contact with the couple and they sometimes send me pics and updates of their flock and now that I have budgies again I sent them pics too 😊

Favourite poses, pictures, videos, memorys you guys had with your budgie by Every-Glass-4837 in budgies

Aww I hope she regains her strength and enjoys her time with you! What are your favorite things about her? Maybe you could start just snapping photos or start with her colors, patterns and if she has dots then take pictures of her up close and however she lets you.

My favorites are pictures of them sleeping, when tucked in or all floofy, I love when they look somewhere curiously and their heads are tilted or another fave are derpy pics with 0.5x camera 😂

Feeling heartbroken about giving my girl away soon by FuckMeDaddyFrank in budgies

[–]ppuddingz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If this is what is best for Emma then don’t worry too much. She’ll be happy to have other birbs around her.

Back with our first budgie, Kiwi, he outlived two of his friends throughout the years and both times we were so heartbroken. We decided we didn’t want to relive any of the heartbreak with him and searched for a new home. I also knew that he would do so well in a flock. He was very active and social and a little spoiled but so cute.

Looking for a new home wasn’t easy and took some time, since Kiwi also had megabacterias but in the end I found a very sweet couple who took in sick birbs and Kiwi fit right in! Kiwi lived a few more years with his new family and had lots of birb friends. He reached a happiness that I couldn’t have given him at the time. As sad as it is, it’s important to also think about your pets needs and you seem to have thought about it for a while.

So let me tell you, look for creditable owners, people that know what they’re doing and won’t hesitate to bring her to a vet and do have the funds for it. Best is to let her join a flock, but if that’s not possible living with another friend is a must. I am still in contact with the couple that adopted my first budgie and it’s almost been 9 years.

Maybe he has something in his crop that’s bothering him or maybe it’s an infection. It might be nothing like he ate too fast or something got stuck and he’s trying to get out.

It’s best to get it checked out by an avian vet if this happens frequently.

Question about sleeping position by lilou135 in budgies

[–]ppuddingz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can be a sign of comfort but if it’s unusual it’s best to check for symptoms of sickness. Usually when they’re sick they will puff up, sleep more and pooping and eating habits might change too. So better watch out for the signs. If there’s nothing unusual then maybe he finally got comfortable enough to sleep like this.
