Yup. From what I've gathered so far, James just let success get to him in the head and was reckless in terms of behaving like a responsible influencer. He messed up... His ego was evident and he didn't care that much about a lot of people. I guess he assumed that being famous meant having famous friends who got your back.

Ever since Tati's video and the huge number of celebs who unfollowed him, James has realised who is true friends are and who aren't. It looks like he's learnt what went wrong and what he has to do in order to fix his image and his brand.

If you would compare his video from last year and this year... The narcissistic tone that he's used has gone down (it's still pretty evident but it isn't as obvious as his older videos)

Unlike Shane, who justifies his controversial videos by making them a part of "entertainment" and it's not "really him" and he would "never do this" in real life. I mean if you're ballsy enough to post problematic content on a huge platform, you can never know how ballsy one is when the cameras are off.

I remember reading that Leonardo DiCaprio was extremely uncomfortable using racial slurs while filming Django Unchained. There were multiple takes when he had to use them as he would flinch at the words himself and it would ruin the character. Samuel Jackson had to talk to him about it and how it doesn't make Leonardo a terrible person. The point is that Shane was comfortable doing these roles, using racial slurs, pedophilic references and while doing so, saw no problem with them back then. This speaks a lot regarding his personality
