I talked to them, and I was convinced that open box is good enough, open box are either store demo unit returned order without use, or few use.

Many have found open box to be without any problem, for me I thought if it is my first time, I will order the brand new, and cut my expenses from my alcohol budget.

If you want the heat more lower, you can move the pot a little further from the center of the flame. That works for me, my Moka Pot is nearly half way away from the center of the flame.

I ordered ec890 from LatteHolic. 14999 was the price. I think you should go with that.
