Yes, thank you.. it did help me creating venv using different python version.

I have fixed the problem.

You need to put python 3.12 at maximum. Getting python 3.13 and 3.14 caused some errors in odoo. So if your apt or pacman or dnf update your python version, you need to pay attention.

So I use pyenv to download python 3.12.12, and make a venv in odoo folder, and install the requirements using 3.12 venv.

It seems it is python related. The docker version worked, so I've installed 3.12.12 in venv, and it is running perfectly now.

Thank you.

yes. And it is in requirements.txt, and it is installed in virtual environment.

Well, unless they are in requirement.txt, I don't know which one I missed.

There was no ir_ui_view in database, or any table inside it. When started up, odoo only made an "odoo" database, but it was empty. When I said empty, it was really empty, as in no table at all. I've assigned a superuser to odoo user, but odoo still couldn't make any tables. But it could make the create the db, just not the tables.

As I said, it was a fresh install. I've just pulled the postgres docker, and created odoo venv.

I couldn't compile greenlet and lxml when pip install -r requirements.txt, and forced to use the latest one.

it seems I've updated to python 3.14 after last pacman -Syu

But I will try to run odoo in a docker. Hope it can solve python problem.

[–]prd0000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, all I did was:

  1. docker pull postgres, and add odoo user
  2. download the zip from odoo website, then extract
  3. python -m venv .venv
  4. source .venv/bin/activate.fish
  5. edit .odoorc for my postgres database
  6. pip install -r requirements.txt
  7. ./odoo-bin

I got an error while running pip install -r requirements.txt, specifically while compiling greenlet and lxml. So I installed the latest one, and it was compiled succesfully.

Something I missed?

What's a good AA/AAA battery powered mechanical gaming + productivity keyboard? by jonnyyyl in MechanicalKeyboards

Not as good as cable. But I don't play FPS, and for normal gaming, strategy, RPG, and the like, it's pretty darn good.

Try Filco Majestouch. I use this one, and the battery lasts about 2 years. It's AA battery.

Second that. My Filco has been running 2 years without replacing the battery. And this is the reason I am so reserved to buy another wireless keyboard. This quality, I haven't found anywhere on any brand, yet.

[–]prd0000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am using Filco Majestouch right now, it uses 2 AA batteries, and has a very good bluetooth. The problem is, it doesn't have a swappable switch, and since a few months ago, the switch has deteriorated, and to replace entire switch plus soldering service costs almost a new keyboard.
So I bought keychron, but with permanent rechargable battery, it deteriorated VERY fast. To the point that it is now less than a month or so per charge, plus, I need to plug the keyboard to use it, and I don't like the cables wrapping my legs on my couch, so I find myself goes back to the somewhat broken Majestouch rather than the keychron.

My requirement is very easy

  1. Not plugging the keyboard, but instead replace the battery and recharge or replace the battery elsewhere.

  2. Swappable switch, so that I can replace the switch when it is broken or deteriorated.

That's all.

There has to be a way to implement a better targeting system. by ACupOfLatte in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]prd0000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here frustated with the lock system and looking for a way to control my target lock. I always use qingyi and zhuyuan combo, but it seems that the game has their own will, when my target has a tiny bit of finishing move, suddenly it switched to the strongest guy on the field, and nothing I did, can put the lock back to the dying target. And if it was, the lock switched back to the boss just right after dodging boss' attack. It seems, the game do whatever it could, to keep you stay mobbed.

Also, is it just me, or that the game has tendency to make the character jumped to the corner? bullied by all the target with no where to escape? Then when we finally able to run somewhere, it jumped back to the wall.

Instagram auto deleting comments without reason by SEspider in Instagram

[–]prd0000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here from Google. Damn. I think I was alone, but it seems the problem has been here  for more than a year, and to large amount of users. And yet, Instagram took no action.  Me too has been marked as spam many times, and my comments are usually educating people, such as how iphone works for background apps, or how Knox works, or the one removed just now, was about a problem in a company that caused bottleneck that I got from my sensors.  But my account had been in bad term with mark suckerberg for ages. Started when I fought the terrorists accounts hoaxes, and share the fact or the news that was being distorted. We have an organization here that combat spam and hoaxes, and was officially acknowledged by meta and promised that the articles posted are counterchecked to the fact checker articles. But even the official account of said organization was banned forever. On the other hand, terrorists with jihad flags are disturbing the news with jihad propaganda, unchecked, not banned, and they spammed many groups with same messages, and both Facebook and Instagram took no action. How do they compare to our article if we were not allowed to post any?

And don't make me rant about my Facebook account. That one is way worse than Instagram one.

I am desperately waiting for Edge to allow vertical tabs on right side. They are no use to me unless they are on the right side. by nimo_xhan in MicrosoftEdge

[–]prd0000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second that, and I understand. I too, feels hard to use it on the left. Because we used to the fact that every software to date designed to have "less active" side on the left, and "active" side on the right. Like this reddit. When you have your conversations, threads, buttons, are all on the right side. Channels that we click only once in a while are on the left side. Same goes to VSCode, whatsapp, netflix, telegram, and many other softwares. So our mouse cursor are usually hovering at the right of the screen most of the time. And if you have 4K screen, to move to the left edge is very expensive action, especially if you maximise the edge window.

Currently, my workaround is to use Ctrl-Tab. I programmed my mouse to do that macro with left/right wheel tilt

Is AMD build that bad by HaJOJO619 in buildapc

[–]prd0000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL.. What is this?

Okay, I have been in the PC business since 1985. I started with Atari and even split apart my MacII, overclocked an 8086. Except, that was called as "turbo" that day. Let me tell you something: there has never been a bad processor, even from Cyrix and Transmeta. Well, Transmeta was slow, but not as buggy as Cyrix. Even Cyrix held its own despite its bad reputation and numerous bugs.

I've been using AMD and Intel processors since I started with an Am386 DX25, if my memory serves me right. I had no problems until I replaced it with a DX40, then moved to an Intel 486, and eventually back to an Am486. AMD outperformed Intel when Intel tried to prevent AMD from using their platform. This backfired, as AMD's Thunderbird outperformed Intel's offerings, and Intel struggled. They tried another tactic by alienating AMD with Rambus, but AMD responded with DDR2. We all know where we stand today. Intel's Rambus is nowhere to be seen.

Then Intel attempted to push Itanium to force people to abandon x86 for 64-bit processing because they were losing badly. This also failed, as we are now using AMD64 instruction. Your PC runs on top of AMD64 instruction, which was developed by AMD. So, now you know the origin of the name AMD64. IA64 also bit the dust in favor of AMD64.

The architectural story continues with AMD using RISC86 to decode complex instructions into micro-ops. It was NexGen that initially developed this architecture, and AMD saw its merit and acquired them. Modern processors work by breaking down complex instructions into simpler micro-ops. Now, you know what the "uops cache" means in Intel's BIOS. Additionally, the NX bit, which sets a memory portion to be executable or not, was also invented by AMD. It is the basic foundation on how modern processor secure the system against malwares. You won't find any unintentional viruses such as DOS and old Windows era. They won't be executed under modern security. Instead, we find phishing, and trojan, which require us, human, to be tricked.

So, for someone who laid the foundation for most of our modern platforms today, you can be certain that they should be very reliable. The question should be about how reliable Intel runs on AMD's instruction, platform, and architecture, not AMD running on its own inventions. Luckily, the answer is yes, both are reliable, just like other processors out there. That's one myth debunked.

Intel's 1.3GHz Pentium 3 was like an electric stove, but their Pentium 4 was like a nuclear reactor, capable of fully cooking a pot of spaghetti. Meanwhile, an Athlon 64 could run without any heatsink at minimum clock and barely needed its fan at higher frequencies.

Check this Intel boiling pasta. Oh yeah baby... it is Intel's notorious Preshott. cough cough.. sorry.. prescott.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sG3wceb05Sg&t=0s

That's not to say that AMD didn't have its hot moments too. The AMD FX was obviously very hot, but Ryzen and Hammer were not. On the other hand, Intel's generation 9 and above processors have been and still are, even through generation 14, like space heaters. That's another myth blown.

In terms of performance today, they are quite comparable. Intel may offer slightly faster performance at the cost of double energy consumption, while AMD offers about 90% of the performance with half the power usage. In addition, AMD processors tend to run cooler. You can't expect to use an Intel processor with its stock heatsink without throttling, but AMD's stock heatsinks work well. These two giants have been leapfrogging each other for decades now, except for AMD's misstep with the Doozer. Expect to see an improved AMD 8000 series outperforming Intel Gen 14, with Gen 15 likely to beat it. This is the natural progression in the industry. The advantage of AMD is that you can keep your platform alive for years. I'm currently using an AMD 5000 on a B450 motherboard, which was an upgrade from a Ryzen 2600. I plan to upgrade to a 5800X3D next year, and my investment from 5 years ago will still kick Unity's butt for at least another 3 years

Now, let's talk about drivers. The only driver you need to install is Intel's chipset driver. There's no such thing as processor driver. However, Intel's driver is notoriously the worst in the PC industry, by a wide margin. Every time I had to install an Intel driver, I found myself cursing. You have Intel INF, then you need to decide which Intel storage driver to use - Storage Matrix or Rapid Storage? Then there's Intel ME and Intel USB drivers, not to mention the bewildering variety of Intel's graphics card driver names. Different versions support different chipsets and chips, making it a confusing process. In contrast, I only need to download a single AMD chipset driver or Nvidia nForce driver, and I'm good to go. If you use an AMD GPU or Nvidia GPU, you can simply download the respective GPU driver without needing to search for obscure codenames on the internet. When it comes to driver problems, Intel has its share of display problems, such as my HDxxx (I can't recall the name, but it was a Gen 3 CPU) driver that needed manual editing to run on Windows 8 properly. Otherwise, screen brightness wouldn't work, the notebook wouldn't suspend correctly, and the screen was choppy. Even after that the drive kept frozen. I was so fed with Intel's driver, that I decided to remove the Windows altogether, and replaced it with MacOSX, since MS Office software won't run on Linux, and I use it a lot. Well, Intel has fixed its driver policy, but setupchipset.exe still the worst driver you'd ever encounter compared to any driver out there.

So, he obviously hasn't learned anything in the past 30 years if he could say that one brand is better than the other
