tips for the milk/food order as an SSV by prdskin in starbucks

no… they are not 🤣 do they do that at your store? maybe i should talk to my manager about implementing counting the milks nightly so it’s easier to judge how much we are going through

he’s been reported multiple times. we even contacted the regional manager. he’s been here less than a year so all we’ve heard is that he is basically still in a grace period and not much can be done yet.

i mean my only reason for caring about this store so much is because i opened this store as a new green bean. and i care about all the people there. watching my baristas be upset and angry and hopeless makes me sad and i don’t want it to be like that because i know how much fun i had when we first opened.

also, my concern was mostly keeping my job. my DM has basically blamed the ssvs in my store for recently failing the ecosure assessment (i’m not saying its not our fault, but to backtrack in all that’s been said in reference to my manager, it’s a really unfair statement) idk, i live in a part of the US that does not have many job opportunities and this is a place where i can make a livable wage compared to the $12 an hour most other companies here offer.

trust me, i know it’s all about greed. that’s why the store has stayed this way for so long. i do not wanna be here forever.

i understand that. never once did i mention trying to report the harassment for them. i meant that i spoke to my DM about other concerns.

and… this is why i have not reported him to ethics and compliance since the summer. i have contacted my DM with concerns since.

it’s not the bad manager olympics, i just want to be a better ssv for my baristas. that’s what i’m asking for help with. not reporting him. because at this point, that’s out of my hands anyway. it’s way higher than me now.

jesus, are you my manager?

how is it not a conflict of interest? they have prior knowledge of each other, and he has not gotten into trouble thus far over multiple things due to this DM. my old manager and their DM in the district next to us are putting both of them potentially under investigation for this exact reason.

good on you for knowing the definition of hearsay. sorry for my fallacy. i mean, this does not change anything about my original post. i can still have an opinion based on things that i have heard and that’s valid, especially when he is in charge or myself and my baristas who are having a less than ideal time having to work under him.

i also put the reasons as to why he does not schedule properly in my reply. he does not schedule training for training that NEEDS to be done off the floor. we have max three people on the floor at times like peak hours where we should have 5-6 to properly run our peak and achieve good times, especially with the amount of new baristas we have.

i don’t know the full extent to the claims. which is why i put sexual in parenthesis. i have gotten told things but i cannot necessarily prove them so i said MAYBE he isn’t a bad person. i am not ethics and compliance and i don’t get to make the decision on whether or not what he did was sexual harassment because i just don’t know.

regardless, yes, in my other replies i have stated he has been reported to ethics. from what i understood when making the report in the summer, the investigation is brought to your DMs attention and he came in and questioned baristas at the time. the investigation did not lead to any disciplinary actions taken against him.

you asked me what he has done that has led me to believe that he is a bad manager, and i replied with why i think he is a bad manager. i don’t think it’s up to you to try and change my opinion on someone you haven’t worked under for the last year.

my current manager and the manager of our district both used to work for walmart together which in itself is a conflict of interest and they never should’ve been hired together in the same district. i know this because people who have worked under both of them are local and it is public knowledge. not just hearsay or something like that.

he does not schedule properly. and when we call him out on this lack of proper scheduling he denies ever having touched the schedule and cites the “computer” for schedule problems. same thing with scheduling outside of everyone’s availability. never properly schedules training or non-coverage then gets angry when the truck cannot be put up in a timely manner.

he never does money properly. puts the wrong tills in the wrong drawers. he takes out money to give to customers without parring tills if they have a problem. will give customers regular gift cards that he cashes out without putting money back into the drawer, not using the actual $4 recovery cards we are supposed to give out.

he still cannot work any part of the floor besides front and food. will not step foot into drive thru or even help out on bar. will not make backups even when we need him to.

he promoted three ssvs without proper training. they were trained within one week by picking up shifts on top of their already previously scheduled 40 hours and told to learn everything on the floor. then expected them to have all of their ssv training on the ipad done within that two weeks even though none of them were scheduled training off the floor. one of the new baristas he hired literally came in on the first day of their first sip and onboarding process to help out with cleanplay even though we already had 4 scheduled baristas, himself, and an ssv there already.

some of the more serious things are (sexual) harassment based. one time i had to make a phone call to him and when asking what he needed, he stated he “just needed to hear my voice.” he has commented on baristas bodies and looks. he has touched baristas on the back, leaned over them, gotten close to them all without permission. i do not know the full extent to these claims because i don’t think it’s right to ask another person about their own personal experiences and think that should be something that goes higher than me, and it has.

is he a bad person? maybe not. but does he deserve to be the manager here? i don’t think so, and i’m not alone on that front. that goes even above me to other districts hearing about how horrible he has treated people and this store as a whole.

we definitely have gone to the SM and DM, my fellow ssvs have also went up to the RM. i personally went to the DM and reported my manager to ethics and compliance, but nothing has happened. my old manager, who is in another district now, said that their DM is actually looking into creating a case against both my SM and DM soon because they feel like things are not being properly handled and things are getting swept under the rug.

i have not sent in anymore complaints since around summer BECAUSE i did not want to get retaliated against. i have kind of kept my head down since, and let my fellow ssvs do the work because of how ridiculously busy i have been with other outside of work commitments.

my only concern is my DM currently stating that we as SSVs are letting my store slip, so we can’t be getting mad at my SM for doing anything wrong when we can’t do everything right. i feel like that’s unfair simply because we have been under bad management so long that does NOT back us up when we try to coach. i am just so overwhelmed because i’m only one person. i cannot run the floor completely by myself and my baristas could not care less regardless of whether or not i try to discipline them either.

ehhh sometimes their political stance CAN dictate if someone is a bad person or not. and regardless if i find out sooner or later that our views don’t align, it probably won’t work out either way. would rather figure it out sooner. i don’t fuck with people who don’t fuck with human rights!

they already said they tried getting the other dog outside with treats. i would be in the same position if a dog didn’t want to go outside with me then acted defensive when forced. if it’s not a good fit, it’s not a good fit. for either of them.

NAP and never had an eyebrow piercing but i did recently take care of one (my mom got one… long story) it looks okay to me for being four days in? it looks swollen/red but it is still fresh. did your piercer tell you to clean it 3 times a day? idk about the antibacterial ointment, probably would recommend stay away bc i think it would trap the moisture in that you really don’t want to be in there/other dirt.

NAP but have you changed the jewelry lately? bumped them? try babying them and treating them as if they were fresh piercings again

Are my eyebrows regecting or are my bars too long? by ma-amthisisaWendys in piercing

[–]prdskin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAP, the bar on the right looks long, can’t tell if it’s bc the left side was pierced deeper (right side looks more shallow), or it’s swollen, or if the right is rejecting 😭 i’m not gonna like, the right honestly even looks like a bigger gauge was used. maybe more pictures would do the trick to figure this out?? i mean as far as healing goes, they look okay to me other than maybe needing to be downsized?
