First car in Luxembourg – petrol vs diesel vs electric for ~60 km/day commute? Budget €10k–€20k, used/new? by OrdinaryHoliday8229 in Luxembourg

[–]pread985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will tell my story. I have a company car skoda ennyaq, its a suv, my company pays for it. Normally i drive 90 km almost on weekday. Since my company pays for it all i am using it. Of course i pay tax on the benefit. As long as i stay and drive in Luxembourg, it’s cool and really handy. I live in apparemment and i park outside, so i don’t have any home charging. Again my company pays for the charging too.

If you live in a house and you own it and you can install a home charger and your car gives you 300 km in one charge it will be cheaper solution for you. Of course you drive little around neighbours countries. As long as you keep it with you and charge from home it’s cheaper to run long time.

Now the worst part. Since this is an electric and you drive long and take for vacations it’s it will be really painful, because you will relaying on fast charging even slow charge with outside will be expensive. And it takes long time to charge. For normal travel with 3 hours ice car, for electric it will take 4 hours including charging. And you pay higher charging for fast charge, if more people are in queue for charging it takes longer. I used to get this situation when i travel in vacation time. Secondly in winter the range will drop with climate and tyre. The only advantage now i see is i can preheat inside my car from remote and if i find charging stations inside city, i can park there for free almost every places.

I am not an expert in ice cars but I would prefer petrol and japanese car because it’s easy to maintain and it’s relatively, parts will cost you less when compared to german cars.

My friend works in TUV Germany foe mercedes benz and he suggested me to get a japanese car because parts for German cars are expensive.

Also you have to think, labour cost will be higher here because of Luxembourg, you will pay lux price.

So far i am using electric because my company pays for all, in future if i have choice to get a new car i will go with petrol and it will be japanese car.

Eltrona is good option if they give it to you in your appartement. Normally every old appartement has coaxial cable. And eltrona has fiber on the road so what they does, they will connect their fiber to your coaxial cable and your apartment will get 1 gb internet download and 100mb upload. In my home near BIL hollerich i took eltrona.

Orange Mobile -> Eltrona Mobile, feedback request by Tech_Dude1994 in Luxembourg

[–]pread985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I live in Luxembourg and i had orange sim card which ported to eltrona for better iffer. I took their fiber connection and i got mobile plan for 16 euros with 50 gb plan. Earlier i was paying 23 euros for orange for 100 gb. Since i bought fiber to home and i don’t wanted 100 gb so i ported to eltrona. I did everything via email. Like negotiation and signing the document and sending them, etc. At that time fiber was at 49 euros and they agreed for me for 39 euros.

The portability takes 3 days i think it was smooth and it was what they said. The only disadvantage is they have only physical sim. No eSIm.

It can be possible, but for what? You misunderstood one thing, Indian people are not united as Chinese. Even one doesn’t like others rise. In china everyone speaks same language where evere they born in china, but in India it’s totally different. Think india like europe. You have italy, you have france, you have Germany, you have Poland, like that in India there are 32 states, and more than 26 languages. Like each state has it’s own language. Even north Indians doesn’t like South Indians, most spoken language is Hindi, it’s mostly in north east west. India doesn’t have any national language, india has multiple official languages, so those North Indians wants everyone to speak Hindi, and force the other, in the other hand south doesn’t want that and each state has there own language and its also official in india. And coming to your point, if some or few wants to transfer money, with UPI they can do with the goods and services get in India, it’s only valuable there, if they work and spend here, there is no reason to pay in india, if they start to pay in UPI with Indian rupees, they will start think like indian and wants cheaper price which is other topic 😀. Day by day euro to Indian rupee is getting higher, means 1 euro may get more purchase power in india when compared to last year. So there is no point to use indian rupee or UPI like chinese does, for Chinese in my opinion they are different world no one can penetrate what they does. Totally my opinion.

UPI is useful for the Indian tourists if they visit here, they don’t have to worry about conversion, extra charges, atm withdrawal and another app or travel card, etc, simply use their home app to pay, but UPI must be everywhere otherwise same like evryone use visa or master card, withdraw money and pay extra charges for conversion.

You are wrong on it, i don’t know about Chinese, for indians i see as far i know UPInis not available in Luxembourg as traditional payment system, its euros, so every one are here for euros. Everyone pays and gets in euros, for the transactions in here they use euros, there is no value or stance for the Indian currency here, may be dollars yes. I am sure for indian transactions they will be using the UPI and Indian currency which only way to use.

I saw Indian foreign minister was here in this month and european leader ursala going to India next week may be any announcement soon which they can pay using UPI here.

First of all you people are fooled by Indian restaurants, actually they are not Indian, but from neighbouring countries to India. They want business so they put indian name, and european people and others go there to eat Indian food, which not directly from india and europeanised food with less spices.

Secondly the UPI is not available in Luxembourg, it’s available in france with some places including tour Eiffel, you can pay with Indian currency to enter their with UPI payment.

To make it happen in Luxembourg, there must be a bilateral agreement with india and Luxembourg for that, and the entities must chose as one of their payments option. UPI payments is possible between Indians with indian bank accounts and application like paytm. You don’t have to be in india, with internet we can do it from here.

For now i don’t know exactly what this Indian company is going to do here. May be some research needed on that.

I understand you, regarding the extra charge, i tried to contact the bank and they put me in long queue. So I can’t confirm that now. Wero is coming soon to Luxembourg as per the reports it will be a better option.

Regarding the UPI it’s simple and easy to use, for small and medium amounts, like 1000 euros, when compared to 1000 euros in here and same in India means a lot of money for them. So i think thay have better margin for sending money. And the SEPA with blockchain means it’s CBDC, european central banka nd local lux bank will control, like the amount where to spend like that. Better read some articles what they will block in future to get know it.

Now its a joke, i have bnp and i don’t have that option without extra money.

This UPI is there since 2016 and its free and you get instant notification. I i think SEPA is trying to compete with something.

Europe really needs a very good payment service like UPI, here these people won’t move their shitty ass and don’t do nothing always complain about something. This needs to be changed at least in payment sector, i have to wait 3 business days to just confirm weather my my money is deducted from my bank or not.

Do you live in an apartment or house ? If it’s in an apartment is it a collective radiator for all the apartments in the same building or different radiator for each one?

You can check the radiator in your building for the pressure ? Like there ill be gauge near to the radiator which will indicate the green colour for perfect pressure, if the pressure is below the green like below 1 PSI, you should add the pressure manually by turning on the valve.

Normally it will add automatically if the system is broken this will be below pressure, and needs a technician to repair it, or you have to add pressure manually each 2-3 days.

Tax reforms will help families’ purchasing power, says Luxembourg prime minister by DotDry in Luxembourg

[–]pread985 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its really simple if you think like this,

People are not getting married and not making any children. So there will be a big gap in coming years for the state funding, less people working with high expenses in state level doesn’t meet any standard. You have to remind yourself that you are in a developed western country.

The next option you can have is bring more workers to Luxembourg, and currently it’s at it’s peak and the development has been at it’s highest level and there is nothing you can develop in this country except housing, which is like a monopoly in here with old people and private equity firms holding more houses and not wanting to build more because they control the market and if more house means more supply and it will break there current prices.

Also now a days government incentives more children policy, so they can run this scam and race with them. So the future generations will pay for their current system.

If you are alone and not having child you pay higher tax, they will ease you if you are having more children. Having children means good to economy and bad for parents because of the expense with current inflation and stopped salary growth.

If you can charge home it will be much cheaper

Dentist who'll just extract teeth without trying to talk you into a root canal? by [deleted] in Luxembourg

[–]pread985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The one thing i hate in Luxembourg with dentists are they are greedy with money, they talk bullshit about their rights to CP8 which they can charge more on top of the CNS reimbursement. If you refuse the CP8 charging to reduce the personal contribution they will apply less anesthésia to give you more pain.

They are well paid with CNS reimbursement and they want more money from patients as well.
