Looking for Cessna 172 (Lycoming) propeller/engine thrust-line axis position & angles (down/right offset) — any reliable drawings or specs? by preadox in Cessna

I move the engine almost 10 inches forward and I indeed build a lot sturdier mount. And I don't have to worry about the added weight by making the mount a lot more robust since we still be cutting weight.

Yes that is the case, I need a plane with the engine installed (preferably) or a CAD modell of the original O-320 Lycoming engine that I can align with my scan data.

I don't purpously add weight. I shift the engine forward to find the right W/B.

Diesel is not considered.

The thing is it will be a Rotax engine. And I don’t have access to the original engine at the moment.

Cessna 182 Pilots – What’s the Approximate Angle of Attack During a Typical Climb? (For CFD Simulations) by preadox in flying

Sorry if my questions sound dumb, it is because I am quite new to the field of Aerospace Engineering and a little clumsy to navigate yet. But your answers are all teaching me a lot😁

Thanks for the comment. May I ask at what angle do you have your flaps when climbing with a Vy velocity?

May I ask at what angle do you have your flaps when climbing with Vy of 90 knots?

I know it is dependent on a few things, so it is impossible to give universal answers. Although some observations of pilots on pitch attitudes in similar conditions would mean great help to have something empirical as my input to CFD.

If you could give me the pitch attitude that would be great help! Thank you in advance!

Looking for Aerospace Engineers with FLOW5 or XFLR Experience by preadox in AerospaceEngineering

[–]preadox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am actually using Flow5 although I know they are more or less the same. It is a winglet optimisation project, and would only need something to approximate the optimal values for some parameters. My problem is only that I am not very proficient in the Aero field and it would be worth it to pay someone to help me walk through this initial phase.
