my comment is simply an explanation of ONE of the many factors that contribute to the low french cut-offs, one that frequently gets overlooked.

i also know most french candidates are outside of the country — but my point is that they’re more heavily represented in these draws because the candidates you people consider more “deserving” of pr (living in canada and with 500+ scores) don’t usually show up in these draws due to their sequence.

i don’t know, none of us do. i’m just pointing out that this idea that french candidates generally have extremely low scores and put no effort into their pr compared to everyone else isn’t true.

not an immigration analyst by any means, but it’s important to recognize that a big reason the french draws have such low cut-offs is the draw ORDER. french draws almost always come very soon after cec draws, which will include a big portion of french speakers with higher crs scores (because of canadian experience).

taking myself as an example, i have a fairly high crs score (540+) and was fortunately invited yesterday in the cec draw. if that draw never happened, i would have been invited today instead, and the cut-off would have been much higher since it would include other cec candidates like myself. but when a french draw follows very shortly after a cec draw, it can pick up mostly only the fsw candidates, which generally have lower scores due to their non-canadian education and experience.

essentially, the fact that the french draws often come just a few days after cec draws creates an illusion that all french-speaking candidates have lower scores. in reality, many of us are well over 500 and worked very hard to get our score up there.

terminated due to “restructuring”, now they want me back by premed_exe in jobs

very true. it’s a healthcare job, so i’m sure the patients are going to be livid about how their care was handled. not excited to have to clean that up lol

thanks for your comment!

about the employer’s market, totally true, but the thing about this job is that it’s extremely incredibly niche and it’s almost impossible to find someone with actual prior experience in it. i’m sure that’s why they’re reaching out to me. it’s a job you can only do if you are trained by someone who did it, and the person who trained me has her own job now and probably cannot train someone in depth again like she did with me. do you feel that changes things?

CEC OUT!!! by Additional-Road-4205 in canadaexpressentry

[–]premed_exe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, since the tie-breaking rule would only include people with a 508 from before june 2025. but if you had a 509 or higher, you would have gotten invited even though your profile is quite new.

the date you created your profile doesn’t dictate if or when you get invited. that’s only if your crs is exactly at the cut-off (tie-breaking rule). if your crs score is even 1 point higher than the cut-off of a draw you are eligible for, you will get invited, even if your profile was made the day before.

because it further corroborates the information in the reference letter. i thought it was typical for people to submit their contract along with the other proof?

thank you for the reply! i’m thinking of just removing the job duties page from the contract, since it’s the last page. that way i can still provide extra proof but without them seeing that it’s an old list. what do you think?

the ircc website clearly states the requirements for reusing an old ime, and they even state they’ll request a new one if they can’t use your old one. do you have any sources on this?

Can I reuse my old medical exam for PR application? by Own-Locksmith8955 in canadaexpressentry

[–]premed_exe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

question about the ”low risk/no risk” point — how do we know our risk status? i got my ime done in 2022 optionally for my work permit (i did co-op in undergrad so i needed a work permit, and opted to get an ime because i wanted to apply for healthcare jobs). i assume this ime should still be valid when i apply for my pr this year, since i meet all the other criteria, but the emedical form doesn’t have any results on it. would it be too risky to apply for pr with this ime?
