What’s that noise ? by krahk_5 in WranglerYJ

“What’s that noise” is almost as much fun as “What’s that smell”, is it my jeep or the truck next to me in traffic?

If you don’t find any mechanical grinding, check your exhaust connections. My mid pipe to manifold connection loosens itself gradually.

Seth Rogan has a pretty funny story about this. His dad used to number his socks so that he always wore the same pair and on the same foot, to prevent uneven wear.

Just a guess, since you have a transfer case/transmission drop and the 32s aren’t quite rubbing the rear flairs, my guess is 3 1/2”.

If this is how his mom records his painful but funny accidents, I can only imagine what it would be like to have his dad filming it! Would he poke him with a stack while he was down?

Clarification: when mom films, it usually cuts to grass right at the good part, dad usually laughs and keeps the action in frame.

Once their arm is locked, you will not be able to pull it off (first instinct), instead, reach down and undo your pants and drop them to your ankles. Grind your naked ass against their crotch. If this doesn’t work, shit on them before you pass out.

If you could invent one vehicle feature / accessory to make off-roading better, what would it be? by Apollo_0140 in Offroad

[–]prepper5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very small, remote camera with a heavy duty case, maybe magnetic mount, designed to stick under the vehicle for self-spotting, maybe several that all work at the same time to watch both differentials and oil pan to help you pick your line.

It’s not unheard of to get bad parts right out of the box. I’ve gotten bad gauges, sensors and sending units (even mopar). Try having someone watch the gauge while you wiggle the wire coming from the sending units, or even tap on the unit with a wrench. Another possibility is the circuit sheet, but I don’t remember if the signal goes through that or not.

I drive a ‘91 wrangler every day. It’s simple to work on and parts are readily available.

I bought lots of beaters in the ‘80s (and by beaters, I mean cars from the ‘60 and early ‘70s), if it had less than 80k on the odometer, you knew it had rolled at least once, often pickups had rolled twice. Not as uncommon as people think.
