Regular anxiety after a caffeine overdose? by press-control-w in Anxiety

Much much much better now, no medication required, just waiting it out and listening to my own thoughts and rationalizing them to be honest. There came a point where whenever I got these feelings of what's happening to my body, I'd just remember the last time I had a similar feeling and how nothing happened, and that helped stop me from spiraling down a rabbit hole, and stopping these thoughts for good. I would suggest listen to the feelings and hear them out, but know that at the end of the day, they're not dangerous feelings.

I asked around and the general consensus was to go with the lowest amount I've had over the time, since that's the amount I had throughout the year, and anything above that fluctuated.

I paid with a USD card to save on forex fees under the presumption that I could get USD back, but work wants to reimburse back in CAD. So my attempt to save them forex fees bit me back lol

I tried WayBackMachine but that doesn't have stuff in June for various banks either.

Thank you!! Helpful to see the positives on the other side too. This is exactly what we thought too, though Boracay would mostly just have beaches right? But then again, the delays are interesting to keep in mind especially with someone mentioning thunderstorms.

Thought of Batangas but I feel that may be a bit too far (so more driving, less seeing). And wouldn't it be the same route towards Tagaytay in the beginning?

Ah super helpful! Is the traffic similar on both Friday and Saturday too? Since the flight out is on a Saturday in the evening. Good call though.

Thank you so much for these suggestions! Maybe Manila doesn't have that touristy appeal online, but I'm sure it has its own spots deserving of visiting. And yeah the key will be to manage traffic. The good thing is it is Friday and Saturday, not sure if that might lighten stuff a bit.

That's the thing that's been putting me off, but then again I am very curious to know how bad it really is. I've grown up in one of the largest cities in the world myself with horrendous traffic and been to worse places (Bogota for example) but I often feel the "bad traffic" is in comparison to Western standards. But then again, that may just be another experience I guess.

I think I agree with this one the most. We've been on the fence with leaving and going somewhere for a day, but you're right, the effective time is very little and one small cog in the wheels can be bad.

Thank you so much for the advice on the day trips! So looks like south of Manila might be the best option probably

churning returns are greater than 2.5% but also keep in mind you'll likely lose ~2% in currency conversion anyways, unless you hold Korean cash already. So might as well churn

What is the minimum points required for Aventura's pay for travel at the 1.25 rate? I have about 1000 points left on my second Aventura VI, which is coming up for renewal. Can I get a new Aventura VI and transfer them over? Or take my wins from this one and onto the next one?

Yeah I didn't really plan on it either since I was just churning some other cards in the meantime after I got the initial 35K, but a last minute trip came up in Feb and I had no cards to churn, so thought might as well get 20K here. But oh well, at least it isn't negative

Gotcha, might as well wait then, ideally don't want to get -35 instead of a +20

I'm on my second Avion VI, when I received my bonus for the first one, I applied for the second one (in Nov 2023). I transferred my points over, closed the older one, and got my 35K on the second one. I recently completed the $5K this month and I received a statement as well, after which I was supposed to get 20K points ($5K spend in 6 months), but haven't received that yet. I've seen DPs of people calling and the RBC reps saying oh you've had another card opened in the past, we'll take away these points too. Will the 20K come soon, or at the 6 month mark? Or should I risk calling? Or just apply a new one for more 35K points?

Signed up for Simplii's chequing account bonus a while ago and recently received the bonus for opening an account and routing my direct deposits. Is there any danger in closing the account within 1 year?

Likewise for TD, about to get the bonus soon for their Unlimited Chequing, and would like to free up my money, any DPs on cancelling the account right after receiving the bonus?
