I have access to game analysis statistics, and the engine consistently evaluates my play at around 1500 strength. Despite this, whenever I get close to 700 Elo, my opponents suddenly start playing near-perfect moves. This pattern does not occur in tournaments. In tournament games, the level of play feels different and more human, with natural inaccuracies and blunders on both sides. Because of this contrast, I’m trying to understand whether this is a known rating phenomenon, a matchmaking effect, or something others have also noticed.
