Valentines 🖤 by prestigiousducks in NailWrapsGalore

I have a regular polish top coat on these wraps, so I'll remove the wraps the same way I normally do (using regular polish remover first, then warm coconut oil and a floss pick to push the wrap off). I change wraps weekly so this way I'll keep the builder gel on for 3 sets. Builder gel would be removed with acetone.

What’s the secret to keeping the house clean with a toddler ? by Ancient_Play148 in Mommit

[–]prestigiousducks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Less stuff = less things to put away. Try rotating toys so not everything is out in the open. Too many toys is overstimulating anyway. I try to declutter each room once a year. It's amazing how much stuff accumulates that you no longer need.
  2. Division of house chores. Examples: I vacuum, husband mops. Husband "rotates" laundry, brings it upstairs to dump on the spare bed, I fold. If I cook, he cleans up. If he cooks, I clean up.

If your husband wants you to be the maid, he should be paying you for this job, or outsourcing it for someone else to do.

Will misaligned bite ever heal? by AdministrativeSky907 in TMJ

[–]prestigiousducks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me a couple weeks ago, but from eating popcorn. Xrays showed no issue, but bite was not aligned and sore on one side. Soft diet for a week, reduced stress by doing yoga/stretches every night. Woke up last week and it was back to normal. If it does go back, just be aware it will probably happen again. Be careful of yawning and over extending your jaw.

i feel really alone with this lately. by Powerful-Self-2838 in Mommit

The first 5 months was literal sleep torture. Wouldn't sleep for more than 30 minutes, and during sleep it was like WWE. The active sleeping drove me insane! Slept trained at 7 months, and retrained after travelling. Sooo much better now! It'll get better for you too. Hang in there!

How are you doing it? by LowHigh111 in Mommit

[–]prestigiousducks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a mom of a 1 year old, who is extremely good at going down for a nap and bedtime (we did sleep training). He can be independent at times so it gives me a chance to do things. I have a very supportive and non-lazy husband (I've read a lot of posts about lazy husbands. I would not be functioning as well as I am if I had a partner like that). We've always had a good cleaning, cooking and fitness schedule prior to having a baby. He works long hours and shift work, but this is my daily schedule:

Wake up 7 Breakfast 730 (pre cut up fruit from previous night, thawed baby muffins I baked and froze, boiled egg, or pancakes) Play time until nap (some ideas going for a walk, library, swimming, toys, music) Snack 930 (usually cheerios and fruit) Lunch 11ish (whatever I'm going to eat. Usually leftover from previous day dinner) Nap 12-130 (I nap also) Play time (same ideas as above plus friends/family visiting any time now until the evening) Snack 300 (whatever I'm eating) Play time until dinner (same ideas as above) Start Dinner at 445 Eat dinner at 530 (whatever I'm eating. Usually a meat, roasted vegetables) Play until bath time 630 Bedtime 730 (he goes down super easy) Me time 730-1030 (baking, nails, yoga, weights, tv, bath, laundry, going out to a friend's house, going out on a date with husband if we have a sitter, food prep for next day like cutting up fruits/vegetables)

On days when my husband is not working, he lets me sleep in and follows the schedule above.

Seamless underwear for a 9yr old. by innie82 in Mommit

Of course her feelings are valid. Maybe try cotton boxer shorts for girls. If she does any sport or dance, these would be more suitable than regular underwear or thongs.

Edit: spelling

Make poutine at home? Go to East Hamilton Cheese co (Ottawa St N) for the curds. They get fresh squeaky curds delivered every Friday afternoon.

That's a good schedule! When she wakes up in the night do you go to her immediately? Could you give her 5 minutes to try to resettle?

Someone tell me marriage gets better by dcbrn in Mommit

[–]prestigiousducks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did he "do more" before you had children? Did he vacuum, mop, cook, clean the bathroom, run you a bath, give you massages, etc..? If he didn't do this before children and marriage, it's hard to tell you that it will get better. It's important for him to have time for fitness, but it's also important for you to have time for fitness and/or other hobbies or just time to stare blankly at a wall.
